Wait, Kate Middleton's NOT The Most Stylish Royal?
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Are you sitting down? Kate Middleton is not the most stylish royal around. According to a poll conducted by Myvouchercodes.co.uk, shoppers look to Denmark's Princess Mary more often than the Duchess of Cambridge when it comes to fashion inspiration. The 2,318 British women surveyed voted Mary the most stylish royal at 68 percent, while Kate Middleton came in at a close second with 67 percent of the votes. The study also explored how this admiration translates to dollars, finding that 62 percent of respondents are willing to purchase a fashion item simply because a royal has worn it. Not surprised? Neither are we. The Duchess Effect has long sent hoards of women into stores and online to pick up the latest garment Kate's sported. (She's even crashed websites!) But to see Princess Mary slide in to take the fashion lead is certainly a pleasant surprise. While we can't choose between the two royals, we have no problem with giving another stylish noble a chance in the spot ...

Roger Stone: StoneZone's Sixth Annual Ten Best and Worst Dressed Men and Women in the World for 2012
Huffington Post - about 4 years
We here at the StoneZone have adopted a tradition in which Hollywood designer and arbiter of style Mr. Blackwell would publish a list of those he thought were the best – and worst clad people in the World. Mr. Blackwell’s list was eagerly awaited each New Year, via his syndicated newspaper column. His reviews could be snarky and cutting for those he considered ill-clad. Thousands of newspapers picked up Blackwell’s list through the wire services of the day. Blackwell’s celebrated list could make one in society or the movies or break one. His list was the gold standard of style and who was stylish and who was not. While Blackwell is long gone, his tradition continues for the SIXTH year. The publication of our 2012 list coincides with the launch of STONESSTYLE.com, a new website in which I will write on matters strictly sartorial. We are proud to continue this august tradition yet it is will increasing difficulty that we compile this list for the state of dress for the pub ...

    Age 30
On 1 November 2003 to the surprise of many, the Royal Household announced Letizia's engagement to the Prince of Asturias. It was the first royal wedding in this cathedral, which was consecrated by Pope John Paul II in 1993.
More Details Hide Details It had been nearly a century since the capital celebrated a royal wedding, as the present king and queen married in Athens, and the prince's sisters, Infanta Elena and Infanta Cristina, married in Sevilla and Barcelona respectively. As Letizia's previous marriage involved only a civil ceremony, the Roman Catholic Church does not consider it canonically valid and therefore did not require an annulment from the Pope to proceed for a Roman Catholic marriage to the Prince of Asturias. After the wedding, she moved with her new husband to his residence, a palace built within the Zarzuela Palace grounds.
In August 2003, a few months before her engagement to Felipe, Letizia was promoted to anchor of the TVE daily evening news program Telediario 2, the most viewed newscast in Spain. In 2000 Letizia reported from Washington, D.C. on the presidential elections.
