Here's Another Reason to Binge Watch 'Jessica Jones'
Huffington Post - about 1 year
Growing up, I enjoyed watching X-Men and Spiderman and most of Marvel's animated series as I have always felt that the women superheroes weren't just beautiful but they were strong, smart and feminine. So when the cast of Marvel's Netflix series, "Jessica Jones" appeared on AOL BUILD recently, I was interested because it seemed like the complete opposite if what i envisioned a woman superhero to be. It was refreshing to see a cast of complex women be the center of a dark suspense series based on a comic book that few people are aware of. Jessica Jones isn't your stereotypical hero; she isn't blonde, she isn't overly busty, she doesn't run around town half naked and she doesn't have an Amber Rose-type body type that would make the audience envy her superficially. Jessica Jones can be any woman, anywhere at anytime (minus the superhero power). If you've been sleeping under a rock and haven't seen the series already, stop here and go to Netflix because this is definitely a spoiler a ...

Marvel's Jessica Jones: Stan Lee Meets Stieg Larsson in Superior Super Show
Huffington Post - over 1 year
After viewing the first seven of its 13 episodes, I have determined that what makes Marvel's latest comic book-based project so super is how un-super its lead character is. Sure, the hero of Netflix's Jessica Jones has incredible strength and can leap amazing heights, but instead of donning a mask and cape, she is a hard-drinking, acerbic private eye with a messy life and traumatic past. And with Krysten Ritter in the lead role of the series, debuting Friday on the streaming service, Jessica Jones is not just a good comic book adaptation, it is great noir crime drama. Not afraid to have a sexually aware female protagonist -- and not too squeamish to address topics such as sexual violence, abortion, and PTSD -- it is the most mature live-action storytelling from Marvel. It also happens to be widely accessible for adult viewers who are not typically fans of the spandex-clad avenging sort. Based on the acclaimed 2001-04 super hero/crime comic Alias by Brian Michael Bendis, the ...

Carrie-Anne Moss Joins Marvel's 'Jessica Jones' Netflix Series
Huffington Post - about 2 years
Carrie-Anne Moss, best known as Trinity from the "Matrix" series, is the latest to join Netflix's upcoming Marvel series "A.K.A. Jessica Jones," and as a rather mysterious character. Marvel announced on Tuesday that the "Matrix" actress would co-star in the new series, which will follow former superhero Jessica Jones as she attempts to rebuild her personal life and work as a New York City detective. Moss' character is described by Marvel only as "a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica." However, according to The Wrap, Moss will reportedly play a character named Harper, which may be a new addition to the Marvel universe. Den of Geek pointed out that there's no one by the name of Harper in the Alias comics the series will be based on (but perhaps the character is from The Pulse comics Jones also appears in). Regardless, we just hope is Moss will get to do some more bullet time. Krysten Ritter will star in the 13-episode series as the titular character ...

According to THR, ABC will air all 13 episodes of the series. The cancellation doesn't come as much of a surprise. "666 Park Avenue" went from just about 7 million viewers to under 4 million over its two months on the air. Its rating in the 18-49 demographic has also spiraled downward week after week. Rachael Taylor Does The Bowler Hat Justice
Huffington Post - over 4 years
WHO: "666 Park Avenue" star and model, Rachael Taylor WHAT: The Australian beauty was cozy in the perfect fall look as she was out on the town. Taylor (who bears striking resemblance to "Beverly Hills, 90210" star Kathleen Robertson) wore a simple double-breasted coat with a pair of skinny jeans -- her outfit could have looked ordinary but this fashionista knows how to use accessories to her advantage. She wore a cross-body Chanel bag to add interest to an otherwise plain coat and put on a pair of futuristic sneakers for a sporty edge. Her ensemble was finished off with a bowler hat and some oversized sunnies. Sometimes it's the extras that make an outfit. WHERE: Miss Taylor was seen in New York City on October 25th. '666 Park Avenue' Sneak Peek: Will Henry Survive The Drake?
Huffington Post - over 4 years
There's already been a lot of death on ABC's "666 Park Avenue" (Sundays at 10 p.m. ET). But to be fair, most of those people were dead already. This week, the life of one of the Drake's residents might just be in jeopardy. Sure the Drake is gorgeous, but it's a terrifying place to live. With a devilish landlord (Terry O'Quinn) who preys on his ambitious tenants -- and the souls of those tenants who are too weak to resist being trapped in its walls for eternity -- we hope they at least have rent control. For the newest residents, Henry (Dave Annable) and Jane (Rachael Taylor), it's all about having a free place to stay in exchange for managing the haunted nooks and crannies of this tony address. However, the perils are starting to outweigh the perks: Jane's discovering more and more about the building's history, and has even seen a ghost or two, but will her boyfriend be the next to die? HuffPost TV has an exclusive sneak peek at this week's episode, "Hero Complex" ( ...

Rachael Taylor On '666 Park Avenue,' Whoopi Goldberg And More!
Popeater - over 4 years
"666 Park Avenue" (Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC) debuted just last week, and viewers are already intrigued by the mystery behind an old New York City building and its residents. Rachael Taylor plays Jane Van Veen, the wife of Henry Martin (Dave Annable) and the two become co-managers of an old Upper East Side building called The Drake owned by Terry O'Quinn and Vanessa Williams' characters Gavin and Olivia Doran. Jane and Henry quickly learn there's much more to the building than its beautiful architecture. Taylor spoke with HuffPost TV to discuss what to come in the series, the cast, and how excited she is to work with Whoopi Goldberg. So let's talk about the pilot. It's a fun pilot, right? And the cool thing is that we're not doing a procedural show. It's very serialized, so I think as it continues to unfold people will only become more intrigued by what can happen. It definitely seems like it's more of a psychological thriller. Will it get any more gory as t ...
