The driver, certainly, as a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review made clear late last month. And ― according to a report Tuesday by NBC’s “Today” show ― perhaps foot-dragging politicians are at fault, too. Investigative reporter Ronan Farrow dug into the category of accidents known as “underride collisio ...

Alleged Child Abuser Woody Allen Gets Annoyed When You Ask Him About It
Huffington Post - 6 months
Woody Allen does not like discussing the sexual abuse allegations that have dogged him for two decades.  The director accused of sexually abusing his daughter Dylan when she was only 7 years old dismissed talk on the subject as simple gossip in a new interview with The Guardian.  “I have no interest in all of that. I find that all tabloid stupidity. That situation had been thoroughly, thoroughly investigated up and down the line by New York social services in a 14-month investigation,” Allen said. “It had been investigated by Yale and conclusions were clear and I have no interest in that whole situation. I get harassed all the time on it. But it doesn’t affect me and I just have no interest in it.”  Journalist Catherine Shoard notes that the director ― sounding “weary, sad, flat” ― has never before used the word “harassed” in reference to the allegations. But, as Allen’s estranged son Ronan Farrow wrote in a fiery piece for The Hollywood Reporter in May, Hollywood (and th ...

News Organizations Stop Short Of Calling Chapel Hill Shooting A 'Hate Crime'
Huffington Post - about 2 years
Since news broke of the Tuesday shooting of three Muslims -- a young husband and wife and the wife’s sister -- in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the media has come under fire both for not covering the attack sufficiently and for failing to report it as a hate crime. Under the banner of #MuslimLivesMatter -- a variation of #BlackLivesMatter, which became a rallying cry after the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri -- a campaign has sprung up on Twitter speculating that if shooter Craig Stephen Hicks had been Muslim, the incident would have attracted widespread, immediate attention. “The media is not covering X enough” is a common criticism levied at news organizations, and a difficult one to refute. With limited bandwidth, journalists and editors have to make decisions about which stories they cover, which necessarily means some events go underreported or are not reported on at all. It’s certainly true that, had the shooter been Muslim, the media would have been all ov ...

Kendall Jenner, Cindy Crawford, Miranda Kerr, and Lara Stone, to name a few, also posed in various states of undress for the stunning black and white photos. It's no secret that Cyrus, who posed topless for German Vogue last week, fancies herself something of a nudist, telling Ronan Farrow in her W magazine cover story, "We never were inside, and we never wore shoes. I think it’s why I like wearing no clothes so much and I’m always naked." Head over to W magazine to see the entire photo series. CLICK HERE TO SEE MILEY CYRUS' STUNNING TOPLESS PHOTO
