Lin is very involved with charity activities for various causes. Since 2005 Lin has been spokesperson for fashion company Xuezhu, and she established a fund to help poor people living in small cities in China. In addition, she participated in the Jackie Chan and Friends concert in 2005. and reportedly adopted a Vietnamese boy through World Vision Taiwan. In 2007 Lin was chosen one of the Anti-Depression Ambassadors of China for its campaign, including a concert.
