Broadcasting The Pickathon Music Festival
Broadcast Newsroom - about 3 years
Held just outside of Portland, Oregon each August, Pickathon is not your typical music festival. The founder's goal was simply to create the best weekend festival of the year for music lovers. Innovation for Pickathon means creating and refining separate, unique performance stages. Bringing different music lineups and styles together each year. Being the world's only large music festival to eliminate plastic and single use items. Opening up festival planning to the public. While innovation is essential, community is the backbone of the festival. Pickathon brings together a community of music lovers; whether they are sitting in front of the Galaxy Barn stage or sitting in font of their computer in Iceland live streaming Feist's set. A huge part of building the community is based on live broadcasts and live streaming the festival to viewers around the globe. And that is where Ryan Stiles, Pickathon's producer, comes in.

Matthew Perry's Lost Pilot
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Matthew Perry is practically synonymous with Chandler Bing, but the "Friends" star's career could have gone in an entirely different direction. During The Hollywood Reporter's Emmy roundtable of comedy actors, Perry opened up about an ABC pilot titled "LAX 2194" that he filmed with Ryan Stiles and Kelly Hu in 1994, the same pilot season he shot "Friends." "I did a pilot about a guy who was in charge of separating aliens' luggage at the LA airport in the year 2194," Perry said when asked about a job he wishes he could erase from his resume (37:32 in the video above). "I did that the same pilot season as 'Friends' -- 'LAX 2194' ... I wore a futuristic shirt, and the aliens were little people wearing wigs." When THR reporter Stacey Wilson noted that "the world would be a different place" had that pilot been picked up over "Friends," Perry joked, "I certainly wouldn't be sitting here." Check out a clip from the "LAX 2194" pilot that was (thankfully) never picked up. ...
