'A Walk To Remember' Fans, Mandy Moore Has Something For You
Huffington Post - 10 months
"A Walk to Remember" first touched the hearts of teens everywhere almost 15 years ago. Those feelings resurfaced this week, thanks to Mandy Moore.  Moore is currently packing up and moving out of the home where she has lived for the past 14 years. On Thursday, she took to Instagram to share a throwback photo she dug up during the process. The framed pic, which was a prop from the set of the 2002 movie based on Nicholas Sparks' novel by the same name, shows Moore and actor Shane West as Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter on their wedding day.  Also, I think this was an actual prop from the movie. Not sure how I ended up with it but cool. 7 Teen Movies Based On Shakespeare That Would Make Him Roll Over In His Grave
Huffington Post - almost 2 years
Happy birthday, William Shakespeare! Well, happy death day, at least. We observe both the birth and the death of the Bard on the date he died, April 23, though his birthdate has not been confirmed. Billy, not yet rolling in his grave. Here's what we do know: This is the 399th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, and his outsize importance to Western culture looms as large as ever. Christopher Marlowe would be lime-green with envy over the popularity of his one-time rival's plays; there are entire theater troupes devoted to performing Shakespeare, and the finest actors jockey to commit their portrayals of Hamlet and Lady Macbeth to film. Oh, and then there are the remixes. "West Side Story," "Kiss Me, Kate," A Thousand Acres -- many of Shakespeare's plays were themselves retellings of historical events or classic tales, and the appeal of the narratives has only grown with his magical touch. One can't help but wonder, however, if some of these adaptations would make the great ...

12 Romantic Comedies That Are Better Than The Book
Huffington Post - over 3 years
The book is always better than the movie, right? It came first. You imagined it all in your head. And here's the proof: The movie: "Bridget Jones' Diary" The book: "Bridget Jones' Diary" by Helen Fielding Why the movie's better: Because words cannot express the magic of Colin Firth and Hugh Grant vying for Renee Zellweger's spinster affection. 'Nikita' Star Talks New 'Euro Trip'-Style Webseries
Huffington Post - over 3 years
On August 15, The CW launched CW Seed, a digital studio focused on developing original series on the Web, with the goal of establishing projects that can ideally be ported over to the broadcast network if they connect with an audience. It's a strategy that's worked well for shows like Lisa Kudrow's "Web Therapy" on Showtime and Adult Swim's "Childrens Hospital," and CW Seed has launched with a diverse array of comedies, like the third season of critically-acclaimed "Husbands"; globetrotting "Backpackers" starring "Nikita's" Dillon Casey; "The P.E.T. Squad Files" produced by "Heroes'" Milo Ventimiglia; and animated "Gallery Mallory," which will feature guest voices from CW stars like Misha Collins, Justin Hartley and Kat Graham. In an attempt to get over a serious case of cold feet, "Backpackers" finds recently engaged Ryan (Noah Reid) and Beth (Meghan Heffern) embarking on separate European adventures leading up to their wedding. SPOILER ALERT: Lyndsy Fonseca On Alex's Shocking Actions
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
Spoiler Alert: Do not read on unless you have seen "Nikita" Season 3, Episode 16, titled "Tipping Point." Did you see that coming, "Nikita" fans? After Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) and Sean (Dillion Casey) spent this week's episode searching for mutineers inside Division, Rachel's (Jessica Camacho) careless mention of reaching a "tipping point" during her interrogation revealed that Alex herself was involved in the plot, leading her to shoot Ryan (Noah Bean) to cover her tracks. Now, Ryan is in a coma, and it appears that despite her protestations, Amanda (Melinda Clarke) did do something to Alex while our troubled heroine was imprisoned in South Ossetia, somehow subconsciously linking her dissatisfaction with Division to her memories of being sold into the sex trade. The Huffington Post caught up with Lyndsy Fonseca via phone to find out what's next for Alex after her betrayal, how her secret will affect her relationships with Sean and Nikita (Maggie Q), what else Amanda has ...

Laura Prudom: 'Nikita': Is There Hope For Michael?
Huffington Post - about 4 years
Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 3, Episode 10 of The CW's "Nikita," titled "Brave New World." Things are about to get even messier on "Nikita." The loss of Michael's hand continues to drive the narrative momentum as we near the halfway point of the season, but as dramatic as that twist was, it's clear that things are being teed up for something even bigger. Between the President seemingly changing course on Division's fate and the Michael's renewed interest in finding a replacement for his hand, dark things are afoot (no pun intended). "Brave New World" saw Nikita trying to assuage her feelings of guilt and helplessness by finding a way to make herself useful to Michael, pursuing the nefarious scientist Heidecker and the tech that could help regenerate Michael's hand. But life is never fair or easy in Nikita's world, and not only was Heidecker a mere sales rep instead of the brains behind the miraculous technology, he was also using children as lab r ...

Maggie Q Talks 'Nikita' And Her Work With PETA

You and Shane [West] have been doing such intense, emotional work on "Nikita" this season. How is their relationship going to evolve as Michael continues to struggle with the loss of his hand? 'Nikita': Devon Sawa Previews What's Next For Owen
Huffington Post - about 4 years
"Nikita" Season 3 has already proven eventful, with Team Nikita back inside Division's walls, Michael (Shane West) and Nikita (Maggie Q) engaged, Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) relapsing into drug addiction and, most recently, the loss of Michael's hand -- all in the first eight episodes. This season has also introduced Devon Sawa as a series regular, and luckily for fans of the troubled Cleaner-turned-rogue, we'll be seeing a lot more of him as the year progresses. HuffPost TV caught up with Sawa via phone to discuss what's coming up for Owen, his chemistry with Nikita (and Alex), and how much of an issue his amnesia will be in upcoming episodes. This week's episode sees Owen and Nikita out in the field. What else can you preview about it? Michael, because of this situation with his hand and him learning to deal with that and deal with his new way of life, steps back and takes over Division. He coaches Owen because Owen is not used to working with a partner. He’s not good at t ...

Laura Prudom: 'Nikita': The One Problem Michael Can't Solve
Huffington Post - about 4 years
Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 3, Episodes 7 and 8 of The CW's "Nikita," titled "Intersection" and "Aftermath." Just when you thought "Nikita" couldn't raise the stakes any higher, the show went and pulled a Luke Skywalker on poor Michael. Admittedly, I was spoiled for that shocking ending (a hazard of the job), but even knowing that it was coming, a large part of me truly couldn't believe that the show would go so far with such a painfully permanent disfigurement -- proof that the series is as bold and unpredictable as ever. Since life got in the way of last week's recap, I'll cover both "Intersection" and "Aftermath" here, which seems fitting, as the two episodes seem very much like two halves of a whole. Last week, the looming threat of Amanda not only drove Birkhoff and Sonya to the edge -- risking Sonya's life in an attempt to deactivate her kill chip -- it also saw Alex admitting her relapse to Nikita and the rest of the team, revealed ...

Laura Prudom: 'Nikita' Is Back And Kicking More Ass Than Ever
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 3, Episode 1 of The CW's "Nikita," entitled "3.0." Here we go again, agents. "Nikita" is back for a (somewhat miraculous) third season, and though Division has been given a makeover, the show is still the sleek, confident, kick-ass machine we all know and love. It was clear that "3.0" was designed as an entry point for new viewers (fingers crossed for an extra million or so of them), which meant a fair amount of scene-setting and character reintroduction. Ryan Fletcher's monologue at the start of the episode gave a brief burst of backstory, but I hope we'll hear from some newcomers about how accessible they actually found the set-up in the comments. As someone who has been with the show since Season 1, I was concerned that the soft reset of the story would result in a lot of repetition, but I clearly should've given the writers more credit. The dialogue seemed smooth and the exposition was enlightening without bein ...

Laura Prudom: 5 Reasons Why 'Nikita' Season 3 Is Great For Both Fans & Newcomers
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Few shows manage to evolve as consistently and creatively as "Nikita" (Season 3 premieres Fri., Oct. 19 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW). It's tempting for any series to find a formula that works and drive it into the ground, but the cast and creative team of "Nikita" are constantly pushing themselves, both in terms of creating a cinematic show on a CW budget, and in finding new ways to keep their small but loyal audience engaged. While The CW passed up the chance to grow "Nikita's" young audience by pairing it with the tonally similar "Arrow" (which has proven to be a bona fide smash hit for the network), and is instead keeping it anchored on Friday with "America's Next Top Model" as its lead in, which will do it no favors, showrunner Craig Silverstein and his team have certainly done their part to make the new season accessible for curious newcomers. Though the show has by no means jettisoned all the things that made it successful in the first two seasons, "Nikita's" mythology ...
