For Glamour, by Megan Gustashaw. Any woman who’s had an outfit ruined by an annoying lack of undergarment options can confirm that when it comes to your bra collection, diversity is king. Especially right now, given the number of unique trends coming down the line for spring 2017 that require the right bra to pull them off. The good news: You probably have most of these bras sitting in your undie drawer right now. If not, we suggest doing a restock — they’re all super versatile and can found at every price point and cup size. Read on to see which ones pair best with six of our favorite spring 2017 trends. Your Guilt-Free Guide To Last-Minute Holiday Shopping That Won't Kill The Rainforest
Huffington Post - 2 months
By Philip Rothrock This story is cross-posted on Ecosystem Marketplace Have you seen Gucci's retro "Jackie" bags, patterned after one of Jackie Kennedy's favorites? They're not only lovely, but they're made of "deforestation-free" leather. That's a pretty big deal, because cattle ranchers are chopping forests by the football field to produce beef and leather, which is one reason agriculture generates almost 30% of all greenhouse-gas emissions worldwide. In the past decade, scores of companies have committed to delivering "deforestation-free" commodities, and some are already making good on their promises, while others seem to be making an honest effort to do so. But there's a new front opening, as Canadian boutique owner Cathy Reid recently found after receiving a holiday shipment of nightgowns. "Some of the nighties are classic cotton flannel," she wrote on her blog. "Others are silky fabrics, soft and cozy, perfect for the cooler nights in November." But then a c ...

Can Sportswear Make Sustainability Cool?
Huffington Post - 5 months
Promotional shot of the sustainable leggings from Girlfriend Collective. Image courtesy Girlfriend Collective This summer Girlfriend Collective launched the kind of campaign that propelled them into the headlines before they'd even sent out their first pair of leggings. By offering an eco-friendly sustainable product for free they caught the eyes of fashionistas all over the world. The sleek, black leggings made from recycled micro polyester and spandex were offered for free minus cost of shipping. This blend of eco and style helped bring awareness to more than just self-care but environmental-care. Though the fight for more sustainable apparel has been going on for a while in the fashion world, it seems that sportswear could be the key to giving it the cool factor it's been missing. The market is set to generate a revenue of $184.6 billion by 2020, growing at 4.3 percent per year. The recent rise of athleisure has also brought more attention to sportswear making it cool to be ...

A Sustainable Fashion Diary for London Fashion Week - Day Four
Huffington Post - 5 months
Day four of my sustainable fashion diary for London Fashion Week, and I opted for the ASOS Eco Edit. One of the charges, fairly or unfairly, levelled against sustainable fashion is that ethical fashion is either too hard to find, not design-led or too expensive - the infamous 'not everyone can afford to buy Stella McCartney' line, is one that we all know too well. Today I am wearing a black ASOS #EcoEdit modal jumpsuit - biodegradable, modal is produced from renewable cellulosic plants such as beech trees, pitranne trees, and bamboo. Made by combining the raw material with a manufacturing process to transform the plant pulp to fiber, modal is wear resistant and can be machine washed and tumble dried without shrinking or getting pulled out of shape too. I styled it with an Okapi bag, named after the African antelope, as a brand Okapi is proud of its South African roots and works hard to stay 100% traceable and ethical. This particular beaded style is a new one by @okapibags ...

I Am The Most Ignored Woman In Fashion
Huffington Post - 6 months
Photos courtesy of Katie Sturino. Tall. Growing up in Whitefish Bay, WI, that was the word most used to describe me. It wasn't until I left the Midwest after college with my Fashion Dreams securely tucked into my Juicy jumpsuit and landed in NYC that I realized there would be a new word to describe my body: fat. My height no longer set me apart, as 5-foot-11 models stood eye level with me -- and suddenly it was also no excuse for not fitting into the tiny clothing that surrounded me. I worked for a high-end clothing company that I really admired (and still love to this day!), but the boundaries were set immediately. While the other people in my department used the samples closet as their second wardrobes, I struggled to find a single piece I could squeeze into, and had to pretend that accessories were my thing (handbags always fit!). My coworkers swapped stories about celebrities who claimed they were a size 2 and who had to be greased into a 4...whales! So, what did those gossip ...

In Praise Of A White Shirt
Huffington Post - 7 months
While of course they never go out of style, white shirts have rarely been quite as must-have as now. A perfect choice for this transitional time of year, the white shirts we love most are both feminine and modern. Revealing all sorts of exciting and unique details, they are anything but basic. Best of all, they are the most versatile pieces you can own. Wear a classic white shirt and dark pant or skirt to the workplace with total ease. Accessorize your look with a high heel and drop earring and you're ready for cocktails or dinner. We think the white and black "uniform," chic and sharp, is suited for formal occasions too. On the runways: Valentino A lesson in layering: Untuck your white shirt and add a cropped top or sweater for a thoroughly modern proportion. Add a black skirt or pants and basta! Osman A regal ruff and cuffs elevate the classic shirt. The high-waisted trouser echoes the drama with a wavy peplum. Carolina Herrera The so-called Queen of the White Shirt ...
