Texas Plumber Says Life Was Ruined By Jihadi Video Showing His Work Truck
Huffington Post - about 1 year
HOUSTON (CN) - A Texas Ford dealer resold a plumber's work truck without removing company decals, which ruined his life when a photo of jihadis shooting an anti-aircraft gun from the truck went viral, the plumber claims in court. Mark Oberholtzer owns Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City, an hour southeast of Houston. He traded in his Ford pickup to AutoNation Ford Gulf Freeway in October 2013 for a newer model, and as he waited for the deal to close he started peeling the "Mark-1 Plumbing" stickers off the truck, he says in a Wednesday lawsuit in Harris County Court. A salesman told him to stop, because it "would blemish the vehicle paint" and "the dealership had something better for removal," Oberholtzer says in the complaint. He says his secretary dropped a bombshell on Dec. 17, 2014 when she called as he drove to Corpus Christi. Two days earlier, a member of Ansar al-Deen, a jihadi group, had tweeted a "propaganda photograph" with a message stating: "using plumbing truck ag ...

Huffington Post - over 3 years
photo credit: Eleanor Stills THE RIDES' "SEARCH AND DESTROY" On the trio's attack of "Search And Destroy," Kenny Wayne Shepherd says, "When Jerry brought it in as a possibility I thought it would end up being cool and basically sold Stephen and Barry on it based on the energy level and intensity. It sounds young and fresh and we put our own stamp on it. The original by the Stooges is more primal." "This was a great accident waiting to happen, a great choice that I resisted at first," adds Stephen Stills of the cover. "I wasn't familiar with it, then once I played it, it was the coolest thing I ever did. I put a Keith Richards spin on it and it sounds like a really good punk band is playing it." A Conversation with John Rzeznik Mike Ragogna: John, is this your tenth album? John Rzeznik: This is our tenth album. MR: And the name of it is Magnetic. Is it because all of the band members can't help but make music together? JR: You know what, actuall ...

Letter: ‘Decent public toilets are vital’
Advertiser & Review - almost 5 years
I attended the annual town meeting on Wednesday, March 28. I was very disappointed at the number of Buckingham residents attending. I was also disappointed that the representative from Bucks County Council didn’t attend. Representatives from the town council, the police, AVDC and the district council attended plus representatives from various committees. I went because I had asked a question regarding the situation about the lack of public toilets in the town centre. I did not get a satisfactory answer to the question. A scheme was mentioned about building toilets behind the library but this didn’t seem very practical especially if they were only open in library hours. At this stage this scheme is just an idea. The meeting was also told the toilets in Moreton Road have had small improvements made. The toilets in Moreton Road are impractical for the visitors to Cornwalls Meadow or Meadow Walk and do not create the best image for a small market town. To get to them from Meadow Walk y ...
