The Fresh Prince of Beverly Hills
Huffington Post - about 3 years
For Tom Hamilton, pop has no boundaries. Growing up in Calabasas, he spent a lot of time consuming pop music, rocking in high school bands, and cooking up all kinds of sonic concoctions. A chance encounter in the studio led to Hamilton's breakthrough winning MTVu song and video of the year, quickly adding his Music Video for "Sun" (produced by the Cataracts) into rotation on MTV2. After a brief stint as a solo artist, Hamilton realized that he really loved being behind the scenes and started collaborating with his best friend and fellow middle-school student, Hollywood "It" girl DJ Caroline D'Amore. Their teaming turned out to be a match made in heaven. Highlights of their barely over a year, super powered pairing has resulted in co-producing the Radio Show Heartbeatz with DJ Caroline D'amore, syndicated in 27 countries with weekly stars like Nick Cannon, Afrojack, Paris Hilton, Rehab and Carnage. Caroline tours and co-headlines with Allesso, Krewella and Rehab, and has opened at the H ...

IB Program Ousted in Idaho School District
Education Week - over 4 years
The International Baccalaureate program—which is growing rapidly across U.S. school districts but sparking occasional pushback—will no longer be offered at an Idaho high school after the school board voted 4-0 for its removal. The action last week by the Coeur d'Alene district comes two years after protesters in the area began making their case, arguing that the program was spreading an anti-American ideology in public schools. (IB officials and supporters of the widely praised diploma program for juniors and seniors insist such criticisms are patently false.) Some of those concerns were reiterated by critics before the board voted last week, but that's not the rationale offered by the board's chairman. A story in the Coeur d'Alene Press newspaper said the official, Tom Hamilton, cited limited enrollment, overall test scores, and the cost of the program as among the reasons for phasing out the IB. "I'm not a believer in choice at any cost. I fully support choice when ...

Aerosmith: Pioneers of rock
The Express Tribune Blogs - almost 5 years
LOS ANGELES:  Veteran rock band Aerosmith — which comprises of guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton, singer Steven Tyler, drummer Joey Kramer and bassist Brad Whitford — said on Wednesday that they are bringing “a little of 1975 back” with their long-delayed album of new material. The album that is scheduled to release this summer will coincide with the band’s US tour. Aerosmith said they were working on finishing up the album — the first of new material since 2001’s Just Push Play — ahead of the tour, but refused to divulge the title of the album. “The camaraderie’s there, there’s some songs that are new rock, and old rock and middle-of-the-road rock and blues,” 64-year-old frontman Steven Tyler said. The band will kick off their North American ‘Global Warming Tour’ on June 16 in Minneapolis and will be playing in 18 cities from Toronto to Oakland, California and Atlanta, Georgia. “You’re going to get some new songs from the new album and ...
