No Doubt Postpones Tour, Focuses On Recording
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
After releasing their first studio album in more than ten years, No Doubt shows no signs of stopping. Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young, and Tom Dumont, announced Tuesday that the band will postpone plans for a tour to focus on recording a seventh studio album. "While we were traveling the world last year promoting 'Push And Shove,' Gwen mentioned she was inspired to write new music," the band wrote on its official Facebook page. "In December, around the time of our hometown shows, we discussed the idea of starting 2013 by getting back into the studio together. We did so in January and the new music started flowing with unexpected ease. After spending three years recording the last album, this new pace feels incredibly exciting." No Doubt's sixth album, "Push and Shove," was released in Sept. 2012, more than a decade after the band's fifth album, 2001's "Rock Steady." While it was hard to compete with the major success of "Rock Steady," "Push and Shove" performed we ...

No Doubt has decided to remove its "Looking Hot" music video from YouTube after receiving complaints from fans and the Native American community. In the Melina Matsoukas-directed video, frontwoman Gwen Stefani, 43, wore traditional Native American clothing while being tied to poles and fighting cowboys. PHOTOS: Gwen Stefani's life as a mom "As a multi-racial band our foundation is built upon both diversity and consideration for other cultures. Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt or trivialize Native American people, their culture or their history," Stefani, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont explained on the band's official website. "Although we consulted with Native American friends and Native American studies experts at the University of California, we realize now that we have offended people. LeAnn Rimes, Gwen Stefani Dress As 'Sandy'
Huffington Post - over 4 years
LeAnn Rimes revealed her Halloween costume to her more than 300,000 followers Wednesday: Sandy, from the 1978 hit musical “Grease.” Channeling Olivia Newton-John’s iconic character, Rimes posed in tight black spandex and platform wedges, with bad-girl blond curls and pouting red lips, seemingly without a care in the world. Joining her was husband Eddie Cibrian, posing as Danny Zuko, the character that John Travolta forever made famous. “Danny and Sandy #Halloween,” Rimes tweeted, without a mention of the monster storm that has brought the East Coast to its knees. However, Rimes wasn't alone in her surprising choice. Gwen Stefani also dressed up as the “Grease” star, complete with a bullet wound to the head and a gash on her neck. Arriving at a party in London, thrown by British talk show host Jonathan Ross, she was accompanied by band member and ex-boyfriend Tony Kanal, dressed as Danny. Stefani made no mention of the other Sandy that has made so many people’s lives a ...

No Doubt settles lawsuit over 'Band Hero' vid game
Blue Ridge Now - over 4 years
LOS ANGELES (AP) — No Doubt has settled its lawsuit against gaming giant Activision over the use of band members' likenesses in the video game "Band Hero," court records state. The settlement was reached Monday, a few weeks before trial was set to begin on the band's claims of fraud, violation of publicity rights, and breach of contract. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. The band's attorney, Bert Deixler, declined comment. Michael Zeller, an attorney for Activision, did not immediately return a phone message. The band sued Activision Publishing Inc. over a feature in the game that allows players to perform the songs of other artists using the likenesses of No Doubt front woman Gwen Stefani and other band members. Activision had denied all wrongdoing and argued the idea of "unlocking" unadvertised features of a video game has been around since the early days of the industry. The game debuted in November 2009 and was a spinoff of Activision's popular "Guitar Hero" ...

Zuma Rossdale, 4, Plays Guitar With Mom Gwen Stefani's Band No Doubt
US Magazine - over 4 years
With two rock star parents, it's not surprising that Zuma Rossdale wants to follow in their footsteps. During an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show September 25, No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani, 42, said her 4-year-old son has been jamming with bandmates Tony Kanal, 42, Adrian Young, 43, and Tom Dumont, 44, quite regularly. PHOTOS: Gwen Stefani's life as a mom "Zuma's the one who's showing more interest in the guitar," Stefani (also mom to son Kingston, 6, with husband Gavin Rossdale, 46) said. "Since he was tiny, he's always played guitar--well, he doesn't really play guitar, but he thinks he does." Host Ellen DeGeneres, 54, then played a clip of Stefani's youngest son rocking out on stage during No Doubt's sound check earlier that afternoon. "Oh my God," a delighted DeGeneres laughed. Gwen Stefani: 'The solo records were never meant to be taken seriously'
Guardian (UK) - over 4 years
After more than a decade out of the spotlight, Stefani and No Doubt are back. They talk about the breakup that spawned their biggest hit, spending time with the Obamas and taking eight kids on tour In her tight black trousers, a loose top with more safety pins than fabric, toe-crunching high stilettos with a steel rod in place of a heel and heavy makeup on top of a creamy complexion, Gwen Stefani looks, initially, like a typical rock'n'roll veteran and the very image of the trendy celebrity mother frequently photographed in LA and Primrose Hill. And when she walks into the studio in west Hollywood and instantly bemoans the non-existent cold temperature, it looks worryingly as if she might be as high maintenance as the role generally implies. Initial appearances prove to be misleading. Stefani is, indeed, a pop star and high-profile mother – the endless paparazzi shots of her with her sons Kingston and Zuma help to keep her in the public consciousness between albums – but beneath tho ...

What Gwen Won't Ever Do Again
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Gwen Stefani had no doubts when it came to slowing down her solo career to raise her two sons, Kingston, 6, and Zuma, 3. But with the No Doubt renunion in full-swing -- and the band's forthcoming studio album on the way -- will Stefani ever return to her solo days? “No, I don’t think so," Stefani told The UK's Daily Record. "I was always thinking of that as a moment in time and you can never say never. But these last couple of years have been overwhelming for me, with having so much going on, and my husband being on tour, and just trying to do it all, which is not possible." Stefani's last solo effort, 2006's The Sweet Escape, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has since sold over one million albums in the United States. Stefani originally intended to reunite with No Doubt after her 2004 solo debut, Love. Angel. Music. Baby., but she decided to record a second album as a way to release some of the material left over material. However, now that Stefani has re ...

WATCH: No Doubt Returns To Form
Popeater - over 4 years
The members of No Doubt -- Gwen Stefani, Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young -- have been together since 1986, which is probably longer than any of the voters of the Teen Choice Awards have been alive, but that didn't stop the SoCal rockers from storming the TCA stage on Sunday night. Led by Stefani, the band performed its new single "Settle Down" on the teen awards show. It had been nearly a decade since No Doubt performed at the show, and even longer since the group released a full-length studio album. In 2001, Rock Steady peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and was a commercial success for No Doubt, selling over two million copies in the U.S. Their new studio album, Push and Shove, will drop on Sept. 25. In Celebration Of No Doubt's Return to Music: The 7 Other '90s Bands That Need To Make A Comeback
MTV News - over 4 years
By Bryant Gilmore Now that their comeback has been officially sanctioned by Mother Monster herself, No Doubt should not have a problem reclaiming the top of the charts. The first single, “Settle Down,” from their highly anticipated sixth album, Push and Shove, will be released on July 16 with the album dropping just two short months later, on September 25. To refresh your memory, it’s been almost 11 years since the band released their last studio album, Rock Steady, and in the time since, they've released a greatest hits album, lead singer Gwen Stefani was sweetly inescapable as she embarked on a massively successful solo career and bassist Tony Kanal produced hits for artists including Pink, Shontelle and even Gwen. Guitarist Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young settled down and had a couple of children, as did Gwen and Tony, but apparently there are only so many times a rocker can watch "The Wiggles" with the kids before the urge to hit the stage takes over. Now that No Doub ...

No Doubt to release first album in a decade
The Express Tribune Blogs - almost 5 years
LOS ANGELES:  California pop-rock band No Doubt will be making their long-anticipated return to music this September with a new album on September 25, the band said on their website over the weekend. The group, comprising lead singer Gwen Stefani, guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal and drummer Adrian Young, will release their first record in more than a decade following 2001’s Rock Steady. There is no title yet, but No Doubt did reveal a handful of tracks on which they’d been working in a June 2011 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, including the “party-ready reggae blast” track “Steady Down” and ska-pop tune “One More Summer.” The quartet from Anaheim, California, formed in 1986 and rose to fame in 1992 with their hit single “Don’t Speak,” helping lead the ska revival of the 1990s, a musical genre originating from Caribbean dance music in Jamaica in the 1950s. The band took a hiatus in 2004, pursuing solo projects, before reuniti ...
