ANDERSON, S.C. — Victor Wilson Rampey, age 96, passed away on April 28, 2012 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late William Garrison Rampey and the late Louisa Brown Rampey. Mr. Rampey worked in Textiles for forty three years, retiring from Wamsutta Plant, Lowenstein Mills, in 1980. Following his retirement, he was employed in Real Estate, Century 21 Action Properties and as bailiff in the Anderson County Court House in Anderson.
Mr. Rampey was a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church and served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, president of Baptist Brotherhood, and chairman of various committees: Deacons, Building, Benevolence, and Personnel. He was past president of the Golden K Kiwanis Club and treasurer and board member of the Haven of Rest Ministries.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Frances Hazel Crowe Rampey; their children, Ellen Adair and her husband, John of Columbia, SC., Martha Rose Moody
