Sorry, But This Fascinator Is Just Too Silly
Huffington Post - over 3 years
We all got on board with fascinators -- you know, those frilly, jaunty mini-hats that Brits love so much -- back around the time of the Royal Wedding, so much so that it seemed more and more Americans were adopting the trend. But we've come to realize not all fascinators are created equal. Case in point: the pancake hat. The most recent brave soul to showcase the pancake hat is Dita Von Teese, who wore a white one by famed milliner Philip Treacy to Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday. The hat's burst of bright pink blooms were a nice touch, but we couldn't get over the sheer pancakeness of it: flat, circular, titled vertically smack against her face. Is it supposed to be flatting to one's "good side"? Cover up a bad skin day? Make it look like the flowers are blooming right out of one's head? We don't know. But maybe Dita, Princess Leitizia, Coco Rocha and a few other bold hat-wearers understand something we don't... Dita Von Teese: Princess Letizia: Coco Rocha: Zara Phillips: ...

PHOTOS: Zara Phillips Takes A Maternity Wear Cue From Kate Middleton
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Zara Phillips just gave us serious déjà vu. The queen's pregnant granddaughter stepped out this afternoon for Ladies Day at Goodwood Racecourse, and her maternity look was nothing short of duchess-like. The duchess we're talking about, of course, is new mom Kate Middleton. Following her cousin-in-law's stylish example, Zara opted for a short dress in a bright hue, nude pumps and an eye-catching fascinator (this look comes to mind). And, like Kate, the mom-to-be was glowing. Perhaps the 32-year-old royal was in particularly good spirits because this outing brought her closer to the horses she loves (Zara had to put her equestrian career on pause for the pregnancy). She and husband Mike Tindall are expecting their first child in January, so we're sure we'll see many more baby bump style moments as her due date approaches. As if the royal maternity madness would end with the birth of little Georgie... PHOTOS: See more of the lovely Zara: Want more? B ...

Pregnant Zara Phillips To Take A Break From Sports
Huffington Post Sports - over 3 years
Is pregnant princess/equestrian Zara Phillips putting her horse riding career on hold? Say "neigh"! Though Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter's spokesman told the Telegraph earlier this month that "she will carry on competing for a while longer" despite her newly revealed pregnancy, Hello Magazine reports that Zara will be hopping off that horse. This time, her spokesman insists Zara will be taking a break because the season is through: "The fact is that all of Zara's horses have now qualified for the events she wishes to enter them for next year. She has done so well already this season, she does not actually need to compete any more." As Zara enters her third month, the spokesman describes the princess' pregnancy as progressing "happily and healthily," and agrees that Zara's decision to pause all equestrian activities is "sensible." Horse jumping can be a dangerous sport -- Zara broke her collarbone back in 2008 -- so we understand her caution with a baby on board. ...

The Huffington Post - over 3 years

Her spokesman said in The Daily Telegraph that she will carry on competing, and she is currently entered into three events later this month, with rides on six different horses. More...
