Cinco de Mayo is this weekend (bring on the margaritas), and it’s the 150 year anniversary! Cinco de Mayo celebrates the 1862 Battle of Puebla, when the Mexican army defeated the French forces. Today, Cinco de Mayo is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride; this week’s list includes current figures who reflect this, as well as the historical figures who started it all.
