National Doughnut Day – Celebs and Doughnuts
Written byJune 1, 2012
Happy National Doughnut Day!! We all enjoy the delicious fried treats, probably not as much as Mr. Homer Simpson, but definitely enough to celebrate today.
National Doughnut Day actually started in 1938 with the Salvation Army to honor the women who served doughnuts to U.S. soldiers during World War I. Way to go!
In celebration of this great day, we’ve profiled the celebs who love to indulge in the glazed confections.
* Bill Clinton – He may have had to change his diet for health reasons, but while in the White House the former President was said to have doughnuts from Connecticut shipped to him.
We hope you enjoy a delicious treat today, whether glazed or filled with jelly. YUM!
