Top Searched Celebs of June 2014

Famous People Search, News Flash, People Search, People Search Trends

Who’s who on the web this summer? If the month of June was any indication, sports reign supreme this season. Using Spokeo’s vast network of data and information from hundreds of thousands of people searches, here’s a look at the top-searched celebrities of June 2014.

CRonaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo

How you feel about Ronaldo right now probably depends on which hemisphere you live in. Cristiano is arguably one of the best professional soccer players in the world, and is definitely the most attractive. He’s flashy, he’s handsome, and he’s one heck of an actor when it comes to the dive, but he gets results for his national team, Portugal, though it’s over for them in the World Cup. Ronaldo plays on Real Madrid when he’s not competing in international matches and he dates supermodels, too. Ah, to be a world-class soccer player…

Luis Suarez

Not since Mike Tyson took a chunk out of Evander Holyfield’s ear has the nation been so riveted by a less-than-friendly nibble. Suarez, another professional soccer player, became the object of so many searches in June thanks to a well-timed on-field bite of an Italian opponent. Suarez splits his time between Liverpool’s club team and the Uruguayan national team and believe it or not, this World Cup wasn’t the first time he bit an opponent, it was the third. His over-the-top insults, racism, and general violence have long earned him a reputation as one of the world’s dirtiest footballers.

Rihanna

By now just about everyone’s heard of Rihanna, so what’s notable about her popularity this summer? It could be the rumors that she was responsible for a rift in Jay-Z and Beyonce’s marriage, or perhaps her super-see-through choice of wardrobe for the CFDA awards. Maybe it was her award for the “Most Desirable Woman” at the 2014 Guys Choice Awards just a few days ago, or maybe it’s just because she’s constantly reinventing herself. Whatever Rihanna does to stir up publicity, she’s doing it right.

Iggy Azalea

One of the preeminent names in rap, Iggy Azalea is barely 24 years old and just released her debut album in April. After garnering acclaim as a Youtube star, Iggy modeled for a time and gets a whole lot of attention for her ample posterior. Her newest single, “Fancy,” reached the top of the Billboard 100 making her the first female rap star to do so. She’s also got a compilation out with Ariana Grande. There are a few rap feuds, too, which doesn’t hurt.

LeBron James

LeBron, is always big news in the sports world and as it turns out, the Miami Heat’s star player became even bigger news again last month as he (a) sparked an internet meme called “LeBroning” (b) lost the NBA Championship to the San Antonio Spurs and (c) became a free agent, once again spurning LeBron James Mania. Questions are still swirling regarding which team LeBron will hang his hat on (although the smart money says he’s staying in Miami) but once again, LeBron’s become a figure everyone wants to know more about. Baller.

Who almost made the cut? Standby Angelina Jolie and Tom Cruise, oddly enough, were at the top of people’s minds in June but all in all it was a month of sports. Who’ll be tops next month? We’re guessing it’ll include another European soccer star or two, but we’ll all find out…
