Spokeo People Search (or Spokeo, Inc. or Spokeo.com) respects the privacy of its users and non-users. This privacy policy discloses any information we obtain and how we use it. Spokeo, Inc. may modify this policy from time to time, and any change will be posted here.

Unless you specify otherwise (see Section 2), ONLY PUBLIC CONTENT FROM PUBLIC WEB SITES ARE SYNDICATED AND DISPLAYED ON SPOKEO.COM. The definition of public content is any information on the Web that is accessible by anyone without special user credentials or permissions.

Spokeo, Inc. displays any collected information for the sole purpose of content syndication. You are not permitted to republish and modify any copyrighted material without owner’s permissions. In addition, you can only direct our machines to collect information from you, your friends, and others who have approved your content access. Spokeo, Inc. does not assume any responsibility if you choose to abuse the system.

Spokeo, Inc. does not claim the ownership of any collected information, public or private, displayed on Spokeo.com.

 

2. COLLECTED PRIVATE CONTENT

You are not required to provide any personally-identifiable information to use Spokeo.com. You may choose to provide your email account login credentials to import your address book contacts into Spokeo.com.  Your email account login credentials will only be used for the one-time address book import and will not be stored.

You may choose to provide your third-party login credentials to syndicate private content from third-party social networks and Web sites. By entering in your third-party passwords, you explicitly permit Spokeo, Inc. to syndicate all private content accessible by YOU AND ONLY YOU on third-party Web sites.  To protect and preserve the privacy of the original third-party content, Spokeo, Inc. authenticates all users’ access to private content with users’ personal credentials. Users can only view third-party content that they have access to on the third-party Web sites. All passwords and personal information are hashed and stored with the strictest security standards.

 

3. PRIVATE CONTENT PROTECTION

Spokeo, Inc. regularly checks for the latest changes in the privacy settings of all its collected information.  If the privacy setting of any collected information has been changed from public to private, Spokeo will detect that change and reflect the latest privacy changes in its cached Content. 

SPOKEO, INC. DOES NOT GUARANTEE ERROR-FREE PERFORMANCE.  Spokeo, Inc. will always try its best to protect any user and data privacy; however, it may not catch all unintended privacy issue. Spokeo, Inc. is not responsible for any damages, including incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, relating to the practices described in this Policy.

 

4. BROWSER COOKIES

Spokeo, Inc. uses cookies, or small text files on your computer that store data about your visit, to maintain your login session.  Spokeo, Inc. does not store any personally-identifiable information.  Spokeo, Inc. may collect and analyze your usage patterns that are not personally identifiable. These non-personally-identifiable data are used to improve our services, and may be shared with third parties at our sole discretion.

 

5. EMAIL COMMUNICATION

SPOKEO, INC. DOES NOT EMAIL OR NOTIFY PEOPLE (OR CONTACTS) THAT YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR THEM WHEN YOU CONDUCT A SEARCH OR AN ADDRESS BOOK IMPORT ON SPOKEO.COM.  Spokeo, Inc. actively protects your search history and usage anonymity.  If you believe your search privacy has been compromised, please contact our Customer Service right away.

Spokeo, Inc. does email or notify your contacts when you explicitly press "Share" or "Invite" button to share Content with your contacts. Spokeo also reserves the right to send you certain communications relating to our services, such as administrative messages, without your prior permission.

 

6. LINKS TO OTHER WEB SITES

Spokeo.com contains links to other Web sites. Spokeo does not control, operate, or endorse any information or services of such third-party Web sites. The use of any information provided to these third parties will be governed by their respective privacy policies.

 

7. INFORMATION DISCLOSURES

Spokeo reserves the rights to disclose personally-identifiable information in the following cases:

a. To respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal processes. Or to establish and exercise our legal rights to defend against legal claims;

b. If Spokeo acquired by or merged with another company, we might transfer your personal and non-personal information to that company. When this happens, Spokeo will notify you before any information is transferred.

Use of Spokeo, Inc.’s services is subject to your compliance with those terms and conditions, which constitute a legal agreement between you and Spokeo, Inc.
