A woman called my cell phone and asked if I were "so-and-so". She did not identify herself. She had a thick accent...maybe Indian or Pakistani, but I'm not sure. I said that she had the wrong number. She then asked me to verify if I lived at a particular address, and I replied "no". She sarcastically said "ah haaaa" as if she were were using a "tone" to convey to me that I was lying. For almost a year, I've been harassed by Indian or Pakistani-sounding accents who all claim that they work for a state court or an attorney's office, and they all want money from me. They accuse me of being a "thief" and threaten to have me arrested at work. I ask them to give me their address, but they either won't provide it or they give an erroneous address. They don't want a check for payment- they want my credit card number. When I ask these people for their names, they always give a generic name, like "James Sheriff" or "Michael Strong". These people need to be stopped.
