Received a letter from Capital One....if you get a letter always look for the original... this particular letter is a COPY and is in black and white.. this is definitely a SCAM.... because I had a card mailed to my old address earlier about 3 weeks ago and it was cancelled and I said I would call Capital One back later after I confirm my new address with the USPS...I thought the correspondence, this letter, was legit.....I immediately called the fraud number on the front of the letter and I did get a representative...I gave him my personal information, social and birth date....he then told me that his system was down and told me to call back in a couple of hours...for some reason I asked him to repeat my social security number and he said he didn't have it...I said that I gave it to you and I then asked for his name or ID number... when he started studdering.. I immediately asked him for his supervisor and her or his name and he then started acting strange...so I told him that he better not use my name and social security number and that I was going to report him and this number to the FBI... so although I immediately gave my personal information in response from this letter... I advise everyone to make sure that your mail contain originals....if I had noticed before I would not have called that number...
