CommentScam - impersonating publisher's clearinghouse Caller uses Dave Sonya as alias
CommentWas called this morning by a man who named himself as Thomas Jorge from Publisher's Clearing House. He said I had won 1.5 millon dollars and a 2012 Mercedes Benz from my address. I knew this was a type of scam. I blocked my number and dialed the number he left, a man answered, Hello, then hesitated and asked what dept do you want? I am going to report this, it is so frustrating to be bothered in the privacy of your home.
CommentI believe this to be a scam. a man calling himself David Chin called me by name , knew my address. and said that a man named Mr. Escovar had sponsored a winning check for me in the ammount of 1.5 million dollars. but needed to know if I would be home to recieve paper work to fill out so that they could process the "certified manager's cashiers check" from Chase Bank today. I told him my phone was about to lose connection, and asked him for his number-just in case. he told him reluctantly that his number was 1-876-377-3138..I called him back, and he answered. so I gave this information to the local Sheriff's office.

CommentThis man has called my home several times a week for a few weeks asking for someone who does not live here. He gave his name as John Cooper, from Mega Bucks something Company, and asked me to have the person call him even though I told him he has the wrong number. One time he said he was calling because he liked my voice. I have notified the KY Attorney General about it. I'm sure he is running some type of scam, but now it's harassment as well. He has an accent, possibly Nigerian.
