Praise Be, Netflix Is Releasing Its Own Margaret Atwood Adaptation
Huffington Post - 9 months
Longtime Margaret Atwood followers are having a great year. First, Hulu’s adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale arrived to rave reviews, seemingly providing America with the timely dystopian cautionary tale it needed. Now, Netflix is hopping on the Atwood train with its own miniseries based on the author’s book Alias Grace.  Published in 1996, the work of historical fiction centers on the very real deaths of Thomas Kinnear and his pregnant mistress/housekeeper Nancy Montgomery, allegedly murdered by two of Kinnear’s servants, Grace Marks and James McDermott in Upper Canada, a region that is now Ontario. Both were convicted, although the guilt of Marks ― often described as an attractive young woman ― has been feverishly questioned, so much so that she was exonerated after 30 years in prison. @flahertykeely #TheHandmaidsTale isn't TV's only Margaret Atwood series: Pics from Netflix's #AliasGrace, written by Sarah Polley & directed by Mary Harron pic.twitter.com/sMvF4678i...

Over five and a half months, he was shackled, assaulted, abused, imprisoned, beaten, whipped, mutilated and subjected to all manner of psychological torture and torment. On top of that, he went through the physical equivalent of a triathlon: running, swimming, horse-riding, rowing and fighting. “It pushed me to my limits and beyond,” says the 26-year-old Londoner. “There wasn’t one day that didn’t challenge me – physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally. Sometimes it was the heat, sometimes the cold, the mosquitoes, the horse. Sometimes it was just having to run in shoes that were too big.” Kirby plays Kunta Kinte, the hero of Alex Haley’s Roots – first a Pulitzer-winning, bestselling novel, then a blockbuster TV ...

As The Huffington Post heard from actor Raymond Ochoa, the voice of the good dinosaur himself, Arlo, the movie is a completely original concept following the story of a young dino as he makes his mark on the world with a new human friend. Despite that, don't be surprised if a few things look a little familiar.  Here are five Easter eggs from "The Good Dinosaur" that may remind you of your favorite films:  1. "Jurassic Park" It's probably hard to do any dinosaur movie without something seeming straight out of "Jurassic Park," and "Good Dino" isn't any different.
