Victor Garber Talks 'Moving Day,' 'Argo' And Working With Funnymen
Moviefone Blog - almost 6 years
Director Mike Clattenburg certainly keeps audiences guessing. He's best-known for giving the world the deliciously ridiculous Trailer Park Boys, but he's also the man behind Afghan Luke, a far more serious film about a journalist investigating the possibility that Canadian soldiers are mutilating corpses in Afghanistan. His latest flick, Moving Day, falls somewhere in between -- though undoubtedly landing closer to Trailer Park Boys on that broad spectrum. The thoughtful comedy, set in Dartmouth, NS, stars Will Sasso (The Three Stooges) as a kind yet dim-witted furniture mover named Clyde who's stuck in a dead-end job. His coworkers, including the wise ex-con played by Charlie Murphy (Chappelle's Show), encourage him to set his sights higher and work towards landing a coveted job working at construction sites for the city. Indeed, the bar is set high. Victor Garber (Alias, Titanic) co-stars as Clyde's eccentric, hard-ass boss Wilf. Wilf is obsessed with hiding an ominous secret ab...

Yorktown Athletes to Use Legacy, Lakeland Fields While Murphy is Repaired
Yorktown Patch - about 6 years
Yorktown school athletes will be out of a home field for practices and games for about three months, starting in mid August, while the artificial multi-purpose field at Charlie Murphy Athletic Field is being replaced.  Following a discussion on Thursday among school officials, town board members, employees of the town's park and recreation department, the highway superintendent and local athletic club representatives, an agreement was made to accommodate the athletes.  "We're trying to be good neighbors," Yorktown supervisor Michael Grace said. "Our parks and rec[reation] programs are really the minor league for the high school. For varsity high school sports, you really need fairly well groomed fields to avoid injuries." Yorktown school district officials said they were looking for alternative space while their field was being replaced and would need to use Legacy Fields, located off Old Yorktown Road, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. o...
