Photos: Record number of underclassmen to enter 2014 NFL draft
Houston Chronicle - over 4 years
Today is the deadline for draft-eligible underclassmen to declare for early entry into May’s NFL draft. In order to be draft eligible, a player must be at least three years removed from high school.
Unofficially, 94 players have decided to forego their remaining college eligibility for a shot at the pros. That figure would smash last year’s record of 73 underclassmen who declared for the 2013 draft. The NFL will release the official list on Sunday.
Highlighted by Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, four underclassmen from Texas schools have decided to jump into the draft pool: Jace Amaro (Texas Tech), Mike Evans (A&M) and Lache Seastrunk (Baylor).
