Fred Willard Avoids Lewd-Conduct Trial After Arrest At Adult Theater
Huffington Post - about 5 years
Actor Fred Willard has managed to avoid a lewd-conduct trial following a summer arrest at a California adult theater because he has completed a diversion program. Willard finished the diversion program for minor sexual offenses intended to divert offenders from the criminal justice system, the Los Angeles Times reported. The program was completed in September, according to CBS News. In July, Willard was arrested at the Tiki Theater, an adult movie theater in Hollywood, for lewd conduct. Police allegedly caught the 73-year-old actor with his "penis exposed and in his hand." However, Willard's lawyer claimed his client didn't violate any laws while inside the theater. Just weeks after the arrest, Willard appeared on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and joked about the incident, but continued to defend his innocence. "It's the last time I'm going to listen to my wife when she says, ‘Why don't you go out and see a movie?’” he said. "It had such a Polynesian exotic l...

Rocket launchers turned in to LAPD apparently were from military
LATimes - about 5 years
Two rocket launchers turned into the Los Angeles Police Department as part of the city's gun buyback event appear to be antitank weapons from the military, experts said. Police said the people turning them in at the buyback told officers they had family members who were at one time in the military and "they no longer wanted the launchers in their homes." Several military experts said one of the weapons was probably a version of the AT4, an unguided antitank weapon. It's a single-shot weapon that a soldier fires and then discards the tubing. PHOTOS: L.A. gun buyback The two launchers -- long metal tubes that were once capable of propelling rocket grenades -- were turned in along with 2,037 weapons at a gun buyback Wednesday, and exchanged for supermarket gift cards. Det. Gus Villanueva said the launchers were "stripped-down shells" without the technical parts needed to discharge a projectile. "They don't have capability to discharge anything anymore," he said. Actor Nick Stahl lewd conduct allegation under review
LATimes - about 5 years
Los Angeles prosecutors expect to receive an LAPD report on actor Nick Stahl's arrest on suspicion of lewd conduct at an adult movie shop in Hollywood on Monday and will then make a decision whether to file misdemeanor charges against him. The "Terminator 3" star was taken into custody Thursday during a routine check by  vice detectives of an adult shop with booths, officials said. He was released a couple of hours after his arrest.   Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for City Atty. Carmen Trutanich, said prosecutors expect to receive the police report Monday. PHOTOS: Celebrity mug shots The 33-year-old could face a misdemeanor count of lewd conduct. But when investigators caught actor Fred Willard early this year committing lewd behavior alone in an adult theater he was allowed to enter a diversion program to avoid prosecution. Earlier this year, Stahl disappeared, prompting a search for him on skid row by the LAPD. His family told police Stahl has frequented skid row, and...
