Sunday's 'Homeland' Finale May Leave A Few Loose Ends Hanging. And We Don't Mean Brody.
Huffington Post - 11 months
Showtime’s Homeland wraps up its sixth season Sunday and as usual, the wrapping will have some loose ends hanging out. “I think it’s very fair to say everything won’t be resolved,” says executive producer Lesli Linka Glatter, who directed Sunday’s 9 p.m. ET episode. Truth is, there’s no reason a TV show should get to neatly tie up issues whose real-life incarnations often grow murkier by the day. One of the central themes on Homeland this year has been a high-stakes, at times lethal rift between President-Elect Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) and Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham), director of the country’s most important intelligence agency, the CIA. “A rift between the chief executive and the intelligence community,” says Glatter. “Crazy, right?” To enhance his side’s chances, Dar Adal has been quietly collaborating with Brett O’Keefe (Jake Weber), host of a popular conservative television talk show, to systematically make up or distort news in ways that discredit ...

Why That 'Homeland' Character May Not Be Gone For Good
Huffington Post - about 2 years
WARNING: Spoilers below for all episodes of "Homeland" Season 5. Season 5 of "Homeland" came to an end on Sunday night, and now that the Showtime hit has joined the growing list of TV series leaving the fate of a beloved character on an ambiguous note, it's time for the question: Is he really dead? After spending most of the season finale holding on for life in the hospital, Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) appeared ready to succumb to a mercy killing at the hand of Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes). His doctors offered a depressing prognosis: At best, Quinn might recover from his exposure to sarin gas with extensive brain damage. Feeling responsible for his suffering, Carrie barricaded herself in his hospital room and prepared to give him a quick end when a bright ray of sunlight penetrated the room, surprising her. The scene changed before she finished the act.  Was that the end of Quinn? One thing's for sure -- we can't be certain. In a Dec. 18 interview wit...

US Magazine - about 4 years
Paul Walker's sudden death in November 2013 left a big void in Hollywood, and not just emotionally. Now, a little over a month after his life was taken in a tragic car accident, his role in the latter has been offered to James Marsden, Deadline reports. PHOTOS: Paul's life in the spotlight According to the site, the X-Men actor is in early talks with film studio Relativity and director Michael Hoffman to take over the male lead in the drama. Source Code actress Michelle Monaghan has already been cast as the female lead. Keira Knightley Recycles Her Wedding Dress For Charity Gala? See the Pictures

'Homeland' Recap, Season 3, Episode 7: Mission Accomplished
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Spoiler Alert: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 3, Episode 7 of Showtime's "Homeland," titled "Gerontion." Make no mistake -- the second-half of this season's "Homeland" means business. After meandering aimlessly for a few too many episodes at the beginning of the season through Dana's teen runaway subplot and Carrie's "beautiful mind," the show's writers have returned to the white-knuckle tumble of interrogations and cat-and-mouse games that we've been waiting for all along. In other words, we're back to the fun stuff. "Gerontion" (cheers to the T.S. Eliot reference) begins with Saul revealing the hand he has in store for captured Iranian terrorist Javadi. Keep in mind, this is the exact play that Saul has been spinning for at least the past two months. Javadi, still covered in his ex-wife's blood, smugly outlines his conditions for trading intelligence: "There's a deal to be made, or I'd be in prison by now. If I talk, if I do that, I need protection. I need a secure ...

PHOTOS: Keira's Wedding Dress Looks Familiar...
Huffington Post - almost 5 years
Congratulations, Keira Knightley! The actress and face of Chanel married James Righton in a simple ceremony in France on Saturday -- in flats, no less! While we're not sure if the bride ticked off rhyme on the "something borrowed, something blue" wedding list, she appears to have satisfied the "something old" requirement... not with an accessory, as is customary, but with her very dress. The short gown Keira wore looked awfully similar to a Rodarte dress she donned back in 2008, on the way to the BAFTA Awards -- while on the arm of her ex-boyfriend, Rupert Friend. Compare the two dresses below, and see a full-length shot of Keira's 2008 look over at The Telegraph. Do you think wearing a repeat dress on your wedding day is OK? Tell us in the comments! 'The Good Wife' Musical?
Huffington Post - almost 5 years
"The Good Wife" is full of musical stars and they're not afraid to show off their pipes ... just not on camera. According to new recurring "The Good Wife" guest star Jess Weixler, Christine Baranski is quite the on-set singer. "You know, Christine does walk around the set singing," Weixler told Vulture. "Basically off-camera, it's 'Good Wife: The Musical.' [Laughs.] I will suggest doing that on-camera, if I ever have any power." Can you imagine Baranski bursting into song during a courtroom scene? "The Good Wife" isn't the only popular drama stacked with musical stars who like to get their singing on behind the scenes. Mandy Patinkin does the same thing on "Homeland" ... and he has been known to moon his co-stars too. "And Mandy did something really quite inappropriate, which I’m not going to divulge," Rupert Friend told Vulture. "But put it this way, you wouldn’t expect it in a room full of consenting adults. While singing." Damian Lewis revealed in November ...

HOMELAND Expands Cast With Rupert Friend
Boom Tron - over 5 years
One of the biggest surprises of the last TV season, for me at least, was Homeland. From all the trailers, it looked like it would be a hokey, over-the-top propaganda piece. The tagline that it was from the makers of 24 didn’t really fill me with confidence, either – that show just never did it for me. Then, when I started hearing reviews, I decided to check it out. Ho-leeee sheee-it, am I glad I did. And apparently I’m not the only one, as it won best drama at the Critics’ Choice TV Awards earlier in the week. If you haven’t seen this bad boy, make sure you check it out. It’s a show that just keeps upping the stakes, and completely fucks with the status quo from week to week. Each episode becomes a “how the fuck will they top that” type deal, and they somehow always lived up to the ridiculous challenges they gave themselves. “It’s like they just herded some cats through the eye of a needle while in space” is how someone bad at metaphors might describe their numerous achievements. ...

MTV News - over 5 years
Spring is in full swing and that means love is blooming along with all the flowers. Don’t believe us? Just ask Keira Knightley—she's getting married! Her publicist confirmed today (via the AP) that she's engaged to James Righton, a keyboard player for the indie rock band Klaxons. While the couple isn't planning on releasing details about the engagement, we hope she was wearing a dress that allowed her to breathe during the proposal. We wouldn't want her falling into the ocean like her "Pirates of the Caribbean" character and almost drowning! Speaking of, do you think Johnny Depp is invited to the wedding? The British actress previously dated her "Pride & Prejudice" co-star Rupert Friend, but they split in January 2011. Fashionista Alexa Chung is said to have introduced the British actress to James, and the two began dating shortly after the split.
