'Criminal Minds' Star Responds To Gay Rumors With A Challenge
Huffington Post - over 1 year
“Criminal Minds” star Shemar Moore doesn’t mind gay rumors.  In a recent interview with BET, Moore explained why he has chosen to refute rumors about his sexuality publicly on social media.  “I just think it’s all silly. If you’re gay, you’re gay. I’m not, and I know that and I’m very comfortable with who I am and I love women,” he said. “I’ve dated plenty of them. If you think I’m gay, send your girlfriend over to my house for the weekend and see what happens. For real. You can call that arrogant if you want to. I just call it confident. You can call me whatever you want, but you don’t know me.” The 44-year-old, who starred on the beloved CBS drama from 2005 until leaving the show earlier this year, also said that ignorance is not becoming.  “I have fans that are gay, men that come up to me, and they’re inspired by me, or they like me as an entertainer, and when they want to give me a hug or take pictures with me, what, am I supposed to not put my arm around them or sta...

65th Emmy Awards lived up to be a whirlwind day
CNN - over 4 years
The 65th Emmy Awards lived up to be a whirlwind day. After limo drop off, you pass onto a long sea of red carpet with bleachers to the left overlooking the red carpet. Breaking Bad’s RJ Mitte took a break from interviewing with House of Card’s Vincent De Paul and Elizabeth Webster. True Blood’s Carrie Preston in a pale pink gown accented with black was getting into her interview. New Girl’s Zooey Deschanel was photobombing visitors taking pics at the end of the red carpet before entering Nokia Center. Storage Wars’ Matt and Mark Harris were making the rounds and taking in the entire red carpet scene. Emmy nominated Alfre Woodard getting the GlamCam360 Homeland’s very pregnant Morena Baccarin look radiant gracing the red carpet. The 65th Emmy Awards Governors Ball is one of the most difficult and coveted parties to attend as it’s the first stop for Emmy winners, nominees and industry VIPS as they can easily walk to after the Emmy Awards. James Cromwell’s had a line of p...

ICON MANN Honors Black Men in Hollywood During Emmy Weekend!
Huffington Post - over 4 years
In a weekend where television heavyweights were celebrated throughout Hollywood, one event stood out for its choice of honorees. ICON MANN, the brainchild of CEO and founder Tamara Houston, celebrated black men of influence in Hollywood on Friday night at the Peninsula Hotel during a pre-Emmy dinner. The evening featured a Coming To America theme and in true Zamunda-styled fashion, the gentlemen were escorted through the marble lobby with three maidens adorned in African garb, tossing rose petals at their feet. ICON MANN founder and CEO Tamara Houston had this to say: It's always important to cultivate an experience. Men of this caliber attend events often but to cultivate an experience, well... the difference is something that lives with them and is transformative. That is what we always seek to do with an ICON MANN dinner. Noting the Coming to America theme, which was cleverly and beautifully pulled off, Houston had this to say: What I love about the film beyond Eddie ...

How an aspiring business journalist regained hope in the industry
Reynolds Center - almost 5 years
DiAngelea Millar at the Los Angles Times I spent nights at movie premiers and advanced screenings. I met the hunky Shemar Moore, spoke to a former heroin addict turned celebrity tattoo artist and followed a medieval knight. This summer brought many adventures – all in the name of business journalism. For about two months, I covered the business of entertainment as part of an internship for the Los Angeles Times. While I never quite acclimated to the glitz and glam that came with the beat, the experience provided me with much needed optimism for my journalism future. As a young journalist, it’s easy to buy into the hype that the craft is dead. But my summer job at the Los Angeles Times convinced me this statement is a fallacy. This internship was very different from my stint at the New Orleans Times-Picayune last summer. Several employees were laid off from the Picayune because the paper was switching to a three-day a week printing schedule. I was the last money intern at th...

Criminal Minds Casts CSI: Miami Veteran Eva LaRue
Boom Tron - almost 5 years
Criminal Minds will be getting itself a new, but likely familiar face, to anyone who has been absolutely glued to CBS these last several years or so. Eva LaRue is guest starring in an upcoming Season 9 episode, so try to contain your excitment. I find it rather humorous she would take this gig. With CSI: Miami behind her, despite the seven years she spent on the job, LaRue must have been feeling that aching long that only actors of CBS crime procedurals must feel. Why else would she want to return to this world of popular, if not critically loved, television? Oh, that’s right. There’s money to be gained by doing this work. In all seriousness, it sounds like LaRue had a blast working on set alongside the likes of Shemar Moore and A.J. Cook. She even posted a photo to Instagram looking completely happy at where she is. In fact, it was LaRue who announced her own casting, posting to her Twitter account “Wish I were still playing Natalia on CSI Miami, but playing Agent Mays on Crimina...

Morris Chestnut On Dark-Skinned Men In Hollywood
Huffington Post - almost 5 years
Morris Chestnut was on the scene for this year's Essence Music Festival, hosting a party and appearing at speaking engagements. The beloved actor will star in "The Best Man: Holiday" later this year, and took time out to discuss the movie and his experience as a dark-skinned man in Hollywood with Hello Beautiful. When asked if dark men face the same type of discrimination that dark-skinned women like Gabrielle Union speak of, he said "You're talking to the right person because when I was coming up, it was all about Prince, Michael Jackson, Jesse Jackson. So it was really difficult for me coming up. Matter of fact, my first production company was called 'Dark Skin Productions," because it was difficult breaking in. And then, Wesley Snipes broke through and he opened it up for us dark-skinned brothers. Some of my boys, Shemar Moore, they're light-skinned and they get theirs too. There's enough for everybody."
