Jill Kargman Climbs a "Stairway to Cabaret" at the Café Carlyle
Huffington Post - about 1 year
Not sure whether or not Jill Kargman would riff on the Led Zepplin classic "Stairway to Heaven," I had to admit, the comedienne, creator of Bravo's Odd Mom Out, and author of Sprinkle Glitter on my Grave brought something different to the Café Carlyle. The set list, for example, featured only eight songs. Kargman is gifted at stand up, weaving songs and stories together into a funny, entertaining evening, spoken from the perspective of an East Side mom at odds with the prevailing ethos. Tales of a Southern nanny named Sue, a Bulgarian make up artist, and a trip to Disneyworld gave new meaning to Jon Bon Jovi/ Richie Sambora's "Wanted Dead or Alive," the Alice Cooper, Desmond Child, John McCurry hit "Poison," and Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Tommy Lee's "Girls, Girls, Girls." Eschewing cabaret convention, Kargman did away with a ceremonial introduction to her band: musical director Marco Paguia on piano under the direction of Trip Cullman, flying by their mention. And, there was no enc...

Bob Dylan's Grandson Levi Is One Very Handsome Model
Huffington Post - about 1 year
It’s not uncommon for the children and grandchildren of celebrities to pursue similar paths as their famous relatives. And it appears that model Levi Dylan, son of Jakob Dylan and grandson of Bob Dylan, is anything but a wallflower.  The younger Dylan walked in Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall/Winter 2017 fashion show in Milan on Tuesday, looking downright babely in a double-breasted jacket, a pair of glasses and buckled shoes.  Dylan told The Cut back in August 2016 that he wouldn’t do runway work because “those guys are really tall,” but changed his tune to walk alongside other famous offspring like Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s son Brandon Lee, Jude Law’s son Rafferty and Cindy Crawford’s son, Presley Gerber. The show is not the 22-year-old’s first foray into the modeling world. Dylan has posed for Wonderland Magazine and Vogue Italia, crediting his photographer girlfriend Alana O’Herlihy with introducing him to the industry. He has also appeared at Fashion Week b...

Sign up for HUFFPOST HILL and get a cheeky dose of political news every evening A poll finds the staunchly isolationist Gary Johnson nearly tied for first among active members of the military, probably because they don’t want to know what Aleppo is, either. Democratic anxiety over poll numbers are reaching such a level that “A Trump win will really help the Democrats with 2020 redistricting” thinkpieces should be popping up soon. And work crews began construction of the inaugural platform in front of the Capitol, though President-elect Trump will be disappointed when he learns they had to scrap Tommy Lee’s rotating drum kit. Discussing All Things Awesome With Jazz is Phish
Huffington Post - about 2 years
Adam Chase is the founder of Jazz Is Phish as well as an accomplished drummer, percussionist, song writer, teacher and multi-instrumentalist. What I love most about Adam and what he has created in his life is the fact that he took what he loves and is passionate about, invited people he loves and respects to collaborate with him and created something magical from that intention. He is an incredibly inspiring human that we all could learn something from so I obviously had to interview him. Taraleigh: How did the concept for Jazz is Phish come to be? Adam: In my years of touring, I constantly came across incredible musicians that were closet Phish fans, but for some reason didn't want to admit it. It kind of reminded me of when children rebel against their parents in their attempts to form their own identities. They don't want to be associated with the thing that shaped them and influenced them for such a big chunk of their lives. It became apparent to me that if I could c...

Ozzy, Tipper and Judas Priest: The 1980s Was a Crazy Train, Maybe I Should've Taken the Local
Huffington Post - over 2 years
I'm of the school that states we're each allotted a certain amount of alcoholic drinks in a lifetime. It's an equation mostly based on girth, genetics and one's propensity for destruction. At fifteen I discovered my depression could be lifted by cans of Budweiser. I welcomed the relief. I was free enough to be giddy, to elicit laughter from my friends for original creative thoughts. It was 1981 and we partied to a new sound that blasted its way into the ethos of suburban New Jersey. Metal. It came in a package of light beer, brown weed and the hurling of one's head back and forth to the quick thump of rock. The musicians were Gods to us: rich, talented, drug aficionados who could party all day long and play in stadiums at night. From an education fraught with regulation we were amazed that such superheroes existed. They flipped off reporters, swigged tequila from the sunroof of limos and destroyed hotel rooms. Every effort we made to include ourselves in this energy left us more alive,...

Pamela Anderson And Rick Salomon Are Officially Divorced
Huffington Post - almost 3 years
Pamela Anderson is officially divorced from Rick Salomon. The former "Baywatch" star and the poker player, both 47, finalized their messy divorce earlier this week and released a joint statement Wednesday, People reports. "Public divorces can be harsh and cruel -- we apologize to our families and friends for any hurt and embarrassment we have caused -– we have come to an amicable agreement and are moving on," the ex-couple said. "There are private and personal family sensitivities to consider and we retract any hurtful comments made in haste and distaste. We wish each other and our families well." The divorce proceedings took an ugly turn in March, when Anderson filed a restraining order claiming that Salomon was abusive and that she was "scared of what he is capable of doing to me." In emails filed with the restraining order, Salomon allegedly called Anderson a "serial baby killer to her husbands." According to TMZ, Salomon will pay the actress about $1 million in the d...

On Rachel Rampleman's Girls Girls Girls
Huffington Post - almost 3 years
Still from Girls Girls Girls; New Jersey Crüefest Tailgate Party, 2012 Rachel Rampleman introduced me to the NYC-based, all-ladies Mötley Crüe tribute band, Girls Girls Girls one Saturday night in early 2014 during a visit to her Brooklyn studio. The band was getting ready to play their last show at the Bowery Ballroom and I was invited to witness the final act. A friend recently called Mötley Crüe "butt rock," which he told me was coined by a Seattle grunge guy in the 90s, a term I found particularly apropos. Despite that fact that I wasn't even remotely interested in Mötley Crüe, Rampleman was clearly onto something and so I was all in. Mistress Mars (aka Denise Mercedes) in San Francisco from the photo series Girls Girls Girls, 2007-2014 Rampleman brings an omnipresent eye of the observer to the Girls Girls Girls' life cycle. With the diligence of a scientist or a collector, Rampleman marks the group's performances and eccentric activities, like working the tailgate parties...

Leonardo DiCaprio's Teenage Hookup Detailed in New Memoir
Just Jared - over 4 years
Leonardo DiCaprio takes a moment to bask in the heat of the sunlight while waiting for his car to arrive on Saturday (November 16) in New York City. The 39-year-old actor allegedly had a one night stand with video vixen Bobbie Brown back when he was only nineteen, and now the hookup is being detailed in her new memoir “Dirty Rocker Boys: Love and Lust on the Sunset Strip.” “I unbuttoned his jeans and tugged down on his boxers,” Bobbie, who was twenty-six at the time, wrote in the book (via The Daily Mail). “(What) I saw made me gasp. It made no sense. The kid put Tommy Lee to shame.” “Waves of satisfaction rippled through my body. If only Tommy Lee could see me now. He was a unicorn. Rare, innocent, and horny. Me, on the other hand, I’d been engaged, married and had given birth. I needed a man, not a man-child,” she added.

Bobbie Brown’s Heartbreak When Ex Tommy Lee Married Pam Anderson
Hollywood Life - over 4 years
Before Pamela and Tommy Lee’s steamy, oft-publicized relationship, he was engaged to another buxom blonde — Bobbie. Now the ‘Cherry Pie’ video vixen is finally opening up in a memoir, revealing the emotional roller coaster she was put on by her Motley Crue ex-fiance. Bobbie Brown and Tommy Lee were the rock star couple of the mid-Nineties, until Pamela Anderson – a Bobbie doppelgänger — swooped in and stole the Motley Crue drummer away. The shocking details of the blonde bombshell love triangle have never truly been revealed — until now. Bobbie Brown Tells All Bobbie, who rose to fame after starring in Warrant‘s “Cherry Pie” music video in 1990, is finally spilling all the gory details about her life — the rock ‘n’ roll, the drugs, and yes, her relationship with Tommy Lee — in a memoir entitled Dirty Rocker Boys (out Nov. 26). Pamela Anderson Talks Topless Pictures, Admits She's Back With Her Ex-Husband
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Pamela Anderson chatted about those recent topless pictures in an interview on "Ellen," airing today (Oct. 17). The 46-year-old admitted she is back together with her ex-husband Rick Salomon after rumors surfaced that the couple had reconciled when photos of Anderson wearing just her bikini bottoms on the beach in Biarritz, France, hit the Internet earlier this month. Anderson told Ellen DeGeneres that "nobody cares" about nudity in France and exclaimed, "If I knew there were photographers there I would have taken the bottoms off too!" As for whether or not she's full-on back together with film producer Salomon, whom she annulled her marriage to in 2008 after about a year together, Anderson says, "I say we're best friends ... with benefits. I don't want to meet anyone else." DeGeneres observed that this seems to be a trend for the former "Baywatch" star since she keeps "going back to the same guys." "You're married then you go back," DeGeneres said, obviously referring to Ander...

Carmen Electra Discusses Her Storied Love Life and Simon Cowell
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Carmen Electra is no stranger to the public eye. Despite countless television and film roles, a dance hit earlier this year and numerous appearances in Playboy, a string of high profile love affairs have perhaps brought the beauty the most notoriety. Electra both acknowledges and jokes about her headline-grabbing dalliances with a veritable checklist of rock music's top names. "Yes, there's some truth to that list, but some are not true," the one-time Baywatch babe told me. "I get linked to people I've barely met. There are people -- honestly -- who I've met, we shook hands, and that was it. Or it's someone I've worked with..." "Or maybe it's someone, you know, I just kissed..." Electra stops to laugh at her own joke, "But after that, you're linked as boyfriend and girlfriend forever!" The superstar -- who admits being drawn to "very eccentric people" -- acknowledges the most notable names from her past. Iconic rocker Prince discovered her while she was still in her teens, s...
