Reese Witherspoon Is Talking To Author Of ‘Big Little Lies’ About A Season 2
Huffington Post - 9 months
And the plot thickens. In the final episode of “Big Little Lies” the audience learns the truth about a mysterious murder involving five moms from Monterey, California. But fans of the popular HBO mini-series, which ran from February through April, still have one crucial question: Will there be a Season 2? The first season already burned through the entirety of the book by Liane Moriarty that the show is based on. The series, though, does end with a seemingly beautiful moment among leading ladies — Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Zoë Kravitz — that feels more like a cliffhanger than a conclusion. On Wednesday, Witherspoon, who also acted as an executive producer on the series, provided a little more information about continuing the story during a visit to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” When DeGeneres asked about a second season, she said, “We hope so. I mean, I feel like it’s — Nicole [Kidman] and I produced as well, so we’v...

Zoe Kravitz: I Experienced A 'Big Shift' In Embracing My Blackness
Huffington Post - 9 months
Zoe Kravitz appears calm, cool and super cute on the June cover of Allure magazine ― but it’s the cover story itself that is most refreshing.  In the issue, the actress shares her thoughts on current events, like what it was like working on the HBO show “Big Little Lies,” her recent switch to platinum blond hair and, arguably most pressing, her thoughts on America’s racial and political climate.  “Racism is very real and white supremacism is going strong,” Kravitz said in the cover story. She went on to speak to her own experiences being raised by mixed-race superstar parents, actress Lisa Bonet and musician Lenny Kravitz, as well as her relationship with her blackness. .@ZoeKravitz is our June cover star!! Big Little Truth: When Women Get Along On Screen We All Win
Huffington Post - 11 months
“You’re a very big person,” says Reese Witherspoon to Laura Dern, on “Big Little Lies” (the HBO hit miniseries that helped a great many of us escape the onslaught of panic-inducing news for a month.)   Witherspoon’s character, Madeline is right: Dern’s Renata is indeed “big”/ emotionally mature. After publicly ridiculing and shaming Shailene Woodley’s Jane for most of the series, without due cause—and with odious, Type-A, uber-privileged-histrionics to boot—Renata goes where (almost) no woman has gone before her in mainstream, crowd-pleasing, entertainment: She apologizes. Genuinely. To another woman.   And then we behold the radical and surprising final event of the series: Five very different women openly support one another. If you haven’t seen “Big Little Lies,” see it. I won’t spoil the satisfyingly, twisty, murder mystery plot for you, but the plot isn’t really the point. Yes, the whodunnit framing device kept us watching each week with urgency. But the multitextured ...

The Stunning Finale Of 'Big Little Lies' Is What Happens When Women Drive Art
Huffington Post - 11 months
The last 15 minutes of the finale of “Big Little Lies” contains very few words. We find out the answers to three long-unanswered questions through images: Who was murdered? Who killed that person? And who is the man who brutally assaulted Jane Chapman and fathered her son, Ziggy? That third question ends up being the most salient one. And the scene that gives us its answer epitomizes what is so stunning about the HBO mini-series: At its core, “Big Little Lies” is about the deep, complex and protective connections that can form between women in the face of buried trauma.   A testament both to the direction by Jean Marc-Vallée and the stellar acting by Reese Witherspoon as Madeline, Nicole Kidman as Celeste, and Shailene Woodley as Jane, in the finale’s climactic scene, words become unnecessary. As Jane realizes that the man who has been tormenting her thoughts for six years is Celeste’s outwardly charming and inwardly abusive husband Perry, we see this realization be passed ...

One of these actresses might play Han Solo’s love interest in Star Wars spinoff
Yahoo News - over 1 year
We already know that Alden Ehrenreich is the actor chosen to play young Han Solo in the Star Wars  spinoff movie set to premiere on May 25, 2018. But casting isn’t anywhere near finished for the film, as Disney is currently looking for the female lead who will probably play Han Solo’s love interest. DON’T MISS:  Under no circumstances should you buy a Galaxy Note 7 Han Solo may be in love with Princess Leia all through the original trilogy and the third trilogy — well, at least while he’s alive in that one — but let’s not forget that he’s been around the block. He’s a smuggler who leads a certain type of life. He shot first , and  he was married when he met Leia . According to Variety , Tessa Thompson ( Selma and Creed ), Naomi Scott ( Power Rangers ), and Zoe Kravitz have all tested for the female lead in the upcoming movie. Watch These Actresses Rally Women To Stop Donald Trump
Huffington Post - over 1 year
Some of the most popular women in Hollywood have taken a stand against Donald Trump, and are reminding women everywhere that we have the power to shut down his dangerous bullsh*t.  Zoë Kravitz, Amber Tamblyn, Diane Guerrero Erika Alexander (of “Living Single), Maura Tierney, and entrepreneur Kate Greer star in the video, which was posted on Friday by the political action committee Emily’s List. In it, they urge women across the country to join the fight to stop [Donald] Trump from becoming president of the United States ― and they make some very compelling arguments.  “No way are we voting for the guy who wants to not only ban abortion but punish any woman that has one,” Tierney says. The ladies also point out the fact that Trump has promised to defund Planned Parenthood, appoint anti-choice judges to the Supreme Court in order to overturn Roe v. Wade, and has publicly called powerful women bimbos, dogs, and fat pigs.  As Erika Alexander says: “We’re not ...

Zoe Kravitz And Lisa Bonet Are Mother-Daughter Goals In New Calvin Klein Ad
Huffington Post - about 2 years
There's Kendall and Gigi, Taylor and Karlie -- but there's nothing that comes close to the bond between mother and daughter. Evidence: Lisa Bonet and Zoe Kravitz posing together in Calvin Klein's new Watches + Jewelry campaign.  With the tagline "life in the now," the mother and daughter duo hold hands and look joyful, encapsulating the feeling of living life in the present. What a clever way to sell something that tells the time!  All jokes aside, this is definitely a celebration of two of the most stunning human beings to ever grace the planet. Although Bonet and Kravitz have posed together numerous times in their lives (family photos and on the red carpet), this is their first major campaign together.  Recently, Kravitz co-starred in Balenciaga's Spring 2016 campaign, so it looks like this actress and musician might have more big-time modeling gigs later this year.  Take another look at the gorgeous Calvin Klein ad above and see the rest of the campaign below, featuri...
