At Spokeo, we believe in innovation. Innovative thinking fuels our new products and the evolution of our company. We also believe in being an active participant in our community \u00a0because in order for a community to grow, all voices need to be a part of the discussion.<\/p>\n

In an effort to bring Pasadena’s various tech voices together, Pasadena Monthly Magazine hosted an event called\u00a0Innovation Summit Unleashed<\/a>\u00a0and Spokeo was proud to participate as one of several sponsors. Various leaders from technology, science, and design came together to share thoughts and insights from their professional experience. I appreciated the opportunity to hear some great advice from respected leaders like Bill Gross, CEO of Idealab, George Whitesides,\u00a0CEO and President of Virgin Galactic, Patricia Moore, Industrial Designer, and Mike Jones, Former CEO of MySpace.<\/p>\n

I thought I’d share a few words of wisdom:<\/p>\n

“The more \u201cdisruptive\u201d an idea is the better. A disruptive innovation will improve a product or service in ways the market didn\u2019t expect. Small ideas will work just as well as bigger ideas.”–Bill Gross<\/p>\n

“I want more people to experience the ‘overview effect’ which is what astronauts feel when they see the earth from orbit. The overview effect is a profound thing that gives them a different view of problems.”– George Whitesides<\/p>\n

“It’s ok to fail, as long as you have the stomach to start again.”– Mike Jones<\/p>\n
