From hot action\u00a0heroes to\u00a0swoon-worthy romantics and even real, life princes, the rich, the famous and even the fictitious have influenced the names of babies for decades. Today we bring you\u00a0the celebrity muses behind the most popular baby names of 2013.<\/p>\n

1. Sophia<\/b><\/p>\n

It\u2019s had a place on Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/i>, “The Walking Dead,” and retains its rank among royalty the world over.\u00a0One of the most notoriously known MTV “Teen Moms” also named her adorable daughter Sophia about 4 years ago, but\u00a0the\u00a0name has been crawling\u00a0up the list since the early 2000s.<\/p>\n

2. Emma<\/b><\/p>\n

Ever since Rachael and Ross (played by Jennifer Aniston<\/a> and David Schwimmer<\/a> ) on “Friends” named their\u00a0daughter Emma it\u2019s been increasingly popular (culminating in a 2008 stint at the top of the list.) Actresses Emma Watson<\/a>, Stone<\/a>, and Roberts<\/a> are all hugely popular right now, too.<\/p>\n

3. Olivia<\/b><\/p>\n

Olivia has a beautiful cadence to it and has hovered around the top half of the top 10 list for years. Actresses Olivia Munn<\/a> and Olivia Wilde<\/a>\u2019s increasing popularity have also influenced the curve.<\/p>\n

4. Isabella<\/b><\/p>\n

Isabella has tons of shorthands, most notably \u201cBella<\/a>\u201d who is, of course, the star of the “Twilight” franchise and played by Kristen Stewart<\/a>. Before the 1990s it never even cracked the top 1,000 names!<\/p>\n

5. Ava<\/b><\/p>\n

Another old-Hollywood style name, screen legend Ava Gardner<\/a> died in 1990 which is precisely when the name started becoming popular again after a decades-long dormancy.<\/p>\n

6. Mia<\/b><\/p>\n

Mia really took off in the mid-2000s with the popularity of rapper M.I.A.<\/a> and soccer star\u00a0Mia Hamm<\/a>! Anne Hathaway<\/a>\u2019s character Mia Thermopolis in “The\u00a0Princess Diaries”<\/i> may also have had an effect on the naming of future little princesses.<\/p>\n

7. Emily<\/b><\/p>\n

Emily\u2019s pretty much always been on the list and in fact, it\u2019s more surprising that it\u2019s dropped below <\/i>sister name Emma. Well-known actress Emily Blunt <\/a>also has a lot of fans who might be contributing to the name’s popularity.<\/p>\n

8. Abigail<\/b><\/p>\n

Hebrew for \u201cthe father\u2019s joy,” this name has hovered around the bottom of the Top 10 for decades! Abigail Breslin<\/a> is one young starlit who became popular right around the time the name did for her role in \u201cLittle Miss Sunshine.\u201d<\/p>\n

9. Madison<\/b><\/p>\n

Madison is one of the most shockingly popular names of this decade, introduced to the American public by Darryl Hannah\u2019s character in the 1984 film \u201cSplash.\u201d It\u2019s unisex, too, which expounds its popularity.<\/p>\n

10. Elizabeth<\/b><\/p>\n

A perennial favorite, Elizabeth will probably always be\u00a0popular. Elizabeth Taylor<\/a>, considered Hollywood royalty, died in 2011, leading to a small spike, and actresses Elizabeth Banks<\/a>, Hurley<\/a>, and Olsen<\/a> are\u00a0also be helping keep the\u00a0moniker alive.<\/p>\n

So, the main takeaway here is that name trends are cyclical and usually take a couple of years to catch up with their origins. In most cases, it\u2019s two to three years after a popular character, actor, or public figure\u2019s name really takes off on the charts.
