It combines the elegance of programming in Ruby with the HTML structure needed to build a website.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Career Aspirations<\/strong>: I&#8217;d like to continue to pursue a career in front end web development, possibly focusing on UI.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>What did you work on this summer?\u00a0<\/strong>I worked on updating the Spokeo Blog UI and setting up an automated deployment for it. Emily and I also built a &#8220;cache warmer&#8221; to make Spokeo faster when a new release is deployed. The last part of my internship was working on a fun project that would find a person&#8217;s closest celebrity lookalike!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Best Spokeo Moment?\u00a0<\/strong>When Austin (our mentor) showed us his Costco membership photo. Austin: &#8220;When I was getting my photo taken, I asked the guy if I could throw up some gang signs, and he was like, yeah dude go for it!&#8221; The culture at Spokeo was one of my favorite parts about this internship, and this is just one example of how fun the people you get to work with are.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Do you have any advice for next year&#8217;s interns?<\/strong>\u00a0Talk to your coworkers! Every conversation I&#8217;ve had with the people at Spokeo has been fun and enlightening. Everyone has a cool story to tell and valuable lessons to share.
