PRESS RELEASE<\/strong>: Spokeo is proud to announce Emanuel Pleitez as Chief Strategy Officer.  Pleitez will focus on addressing consumer privacy practices and increasing Spokeo\u2019s engagement with users, privacy advocates and policymakers.
\n\u201cSpokeo is determined to become a leader in privacy practices within our industry. Emanuel\u2019s background in public service, stakeholder management and business strategy provides Spokeo with the right assets to do so,\u201d said Spokeo founder Harrison Tang. \u201cWe appreciate his commitment to serving the public and are excited to continue building the most useful people search engine for consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n

In this new role, Pleitez will develop the overall strategy for the innovation of Spokeo\u2019s people search product and continue to guide Spokeo as a leading American technology company.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpokeo is a useful product for society with potential to revolutionize how we think about human connectivity.  As Spokeo organizes the world\u2019s people-related data, members of society are easily able to connect with one another, learn about those who have shaped our world and better understand their online footprint,\u201d said Pleitez. \u201cIt is my goal to focus our business model on best serving the human interest and connectivity needs of Americans, while maintaining our industry-leading commitment to consumer privacy. I have known Harrison and some of the other Spokeo founders since we were students at Stanford University and I have the utmost respect for their integrity and focus on the interests of users. Our future as an indispensable people search engine depends on best serving the public\u2019s needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emanuel Pleitez most recently was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. Prior to that, he served as the Special Assistant to Chairman Paul Volcker and the President\u2019s Economic Recovery Advisory Board (PERAB).  At PERAB he managed a diverse group of high-level stakeholders to deliver recommendations to President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining the Administration, he was a candidate in California\u2019s 32nd U.S. Congressional District 2009 Special Election. During the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition, Pleitez served as a member of the U.S. Treasury Department Agency Review Team.  Before his work on the Transition Team he was a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs.<\/p>\n

Pleitez\u2019 public service experience includes serving as a special assistant to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, a field organizer for Senator John Kerry\u2019s Presidential campaign, and a staff member on the Senate Democratic Steering and Coordination Committee for U.S. Senators Tom Daschle and Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n

Pleitez graduated with a B.A. in Urban Studies from Stanford University.<\/strong><\/p>\n
