Saverice-Rohan to ensure privacy compliance for leading people search engine<\/em><\/p>\n

PASADENA, Calif. (May 2, 2012) \u2013 The leading people search engine, Spokeo, recently announced Angela Saverice-Rohan as its general counsel and chief privacy officer. Saverice-Rohan will be responsible for Spokeo\u2019s privacy compliance and will provide counsel on all legal matters.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpokeo is making great strides in ensuring that we are leading the way in privacy practices within our industry,\u201d said Spokeo founder and president, Harrison Tang. \u201cAngela is equipped with considerable experience in both technology and privacy and will make certain that we are compliant with all applicable privacy requirements, implementing best practices and also addressing the public\u2019s concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am honored to join the team at Spokeo. Within the people search industry, Spokeo distinguishes itself by approaching privacy in a transparent and consumer friendly manner. Keeping with this approach, it is my goal to lead the company even further,\u201d said Saverice-Rohan. \u201cAlong with Spokeo\u2019s existing resources and through further engagement of industry leaders, Spokeo is positioned to lead the people search industry in addressing consumer and legislative privacy demands.\u201d<\/p>\n

Angela Saverice-Rohan was most recently associate general counsel for WellPoint, Inc. where she was responsible for domestic and international privacy and security compliance and served as the company\u2019s key advisor on technology, privacy and security-related aspects of all business matters. Prior to joining WellPoint, she was corporate counsel for the global technology company, Digital River, Inc. She also served as the vice president of corporate counsel for the technology and operations business group at U.S. Bancorp.<\/p>\n

She obtained a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Minnesota in 1996 and graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in 2002.<\/p>\n
