This number identified itself as McAfee and said was automatically renewing my subscription for over $500.00. I do not have McAfee and never authorized an automatic withdrawal. Had message to call if did not want renewed. When I called had message to just leave a message. McAfee's number if totally different and also $40.00 for 1 year not $500.00. Wanted a call back to confirm not renewing. A call from Hawaii, not Texas, did call me and wanted me to go into the computer so they could do this. I have talked to this same person several times and have told them to not call me as I know they are frauds.Comment
Told my receptionist that this was the number he had for a reference for me. When she transferred the call to my line, he hung up!!Comment
This caller told me he was from Windows and I had a virus on my computer. I needed to get on my computer and he would talk to me. I asked his name again and who he worked for. I told him this was a scam and I was going to turn him in. He said since I did not want his help, he felt no obligation to give me any information.
