Said I had a rebate coming. I thought they were GA Power, and gave them my info., but after they asked too many questions, I was concerned. I've since restricted my bank account.

I didn't receive a call from 800-555-1212 but did research it because it showed up on my online credit card information. It turned out it was something (incorrect) the bank just entered because it was a required field. The number 555-1212 is or was used for long distance directory service. I don't know if that system still works. The number 555-1212 could be preceded by any area code to obtain directory assistance for that area. Preceding the number with 800 was to obtain toll free numbers. Based on the previous complaints shown on Spokeo, if 555-1212 with any area code is calling, it's probably a fake number used to hide the caller's real number . . . so just don't answer it!
