this is the number for the veterans benefit Administration which is part of the VA. this is a government organization.

sent an email asking to call this number. When I called, they asked me for SSN, date of birth and last 4, which was the red flag. Lastly, they wanted to know my bank account number

I answered the phone & caller said he was an Undersecretary of the Veterans Administration and was inviting me to join a currently in-session teleconference; I realized this as a bogus call and immediately hung up on the caller.

Person calling indicated he was from the veteran's administration and asked me about an inquiry I sent to the VA. In order to process the question he needed my SSAN. I immediately disconnected
