Spokeo Engineers Host Coding Workshops at Local School

Spokeo coding workshop

After a very successful series of classes last Spring, engineers from Spokeo and RentReporters.com have once again organized to coach middle and high schoolers at Marshall Fundamental on computer science.

The “Introduction to Computer Programming” class kicked off on Monday, August 22 and will run through October 17. The classes cover a variety of topics including: the definition of a computer scientist, applications, programming concepts (sequencing, loops, conditionals, functions, variables, etc.) and computational thinking (decomposition, patterns, abstraction and algorithms).

“I think it’s cool that we get to break down complex ideas into simple things that kids can understand,” shared Kyle, one of the Spokeo volunteers. “Computer Science changed my life and I’m excited to get to share it with future generations.”
