Happy Flag Day!

It’s June 14, and your mind may be focused on what to get your dad in anticipation for Sunday (“oops! Thank you Spokeo for reminding me Father’s Day is Sunday…”) but don’t forget that today is also U.S. National Flag Day.  The day commemorates the adoption of the Flag of the United States as well as the Army’s birthday!

The Flag was officially adopted by resolution of the Second Continental Congress on June 14, 1977, but Flag Day was not officially established until 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson. Congress later established it as a National Holiday in August of 1949.
