Team Success: Bring Your Own Plate Day

Catered lunch every day is definitely one of the many great perks of working at Spokeo! But feeding so many mouths can lead to a wopping heap of paper waste at the end of the day.

In an effort to help raise awareness and reduce some paper, we designated yesterday as, “Bring you own plate to lunch” day and we’re happy to say it was a success. A good amount of our staff remembered their plates and another 20 used the ones that we provided for those who forgot. Everyone even happily washed their own dish! Not only are we trying to reduce waste, but we’re creating new ways to bond in the company kitchen.

We look forward to putting reusable dishes to use more often in the future. Here are some fun numbers to think about —  If only 30 people remembered to bring their own plate, just once a week, that would reduce paper waste by 1.7 pounds of waste PER PERSON!  Sign me up!
