A Review of Spokeo

by Spokeo

No, I haven’t written a critique on Spokeo (since that would be just a tad bit biased), but I did want to take time to review Spokeo’s features. Yes, Spokeo has received numerous accolades and reviews from Newsweek, WSJ, and PCWorld, but let’s go back to the basics of what those reviews are based upon.

What is Spokeo?
Spokeo was founded in 2006 by Harrison and his fellow co-founders and began as a social network aggregator. Over time, Spokeo has been driven by user demand and feedback and has quickly evolved into a people search engine and specialized online directory (aka the lovely version you know and use today).

Who's Calling Me?

Search any phone number to learn more about the owner!

Spokeo offers a unique geo-grouping algorithm, which organizes results by location and makes searching easier. We’ve been improving our user interface, adding features such as the Table of Contents, aiming to make it as easy-to-use as possible.

We also have an import feature, which can be found under the “Friends” tab. This feature will import your email address book and social network contacts, organize them into a friend list and alert you of your friend’s updates on the web. It’s quite nifty if I do say so myself.

What else can I use Spokeo for?Spokeo Connect Online
Well, naturally Spokeo is great for reconnecting with friends and family and keeping track of all your contacts’ public online activities, but you can also use Spokeo to review your own public information. It’s easy to lose track of which social networks you’ve signed up for, but Spokeo can help you keep track. There is no need to panic about the information Spokeo displays. Spokeo can show you what information is publicly available and you can choose whether you want that information displayed on our site or not via our opt-out.

If you have any further questions about Spokeo, then check out our Help pages. Lastly, please contact us if you have any additional questions, concerns, suggestions or feedback of any kind. Your opinions, wants and needs are what shape and improve Spokeo, so don’t be shy!
