PRESS RELEASE: Spokeo is proud to announce Emanuel Pleitez as Chief Strategy Officer.  Pleitez will focus on addressing consumer privacy practices and increasing Spokeo’s engagement with users, privacy advocates and policymakers.

In this new role, Pleitez will develop the overall strategy for the innovation of Spokeo’s people search product and continue to guide Spokeo as a leading American technology company.

Emanuel Pleitez most recently was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. Prior to that, he served as the Special Assistant to Chairman Paul Volcker and the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board (PERAB).  At PERAB he managed a diverse group of high-level stakeholders to deliver recommendations to President Barack Obama.

Prior to joining the Administration, he was a candidate in California’s 32nd U.S. Congressional District 2009 Special Election. During the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition, Pleitez served as a member of the U.S. Treasury Department Agency Review Team.  Before his work on the Transition Team he was a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs.

Pleitez’ public service experience includes serving as a special assistant to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, a field organizer for Senator John Kerry’s Presidential campaign, and a staff member on the Senate Democratic Steering and Coordination Committee for U.S. Senators Tom Daschle and Hillary Clinton.

Pleitez graduated with a B.A. in Urban Studies from Stanford University.
