Spokeo at DMA

by Spokeo

It’s been a while since I’ve cameo’d on our blog, but I just got back from the DMA conference in Chicago last week and wanted to share some of the highlights from the world of data.

Every year, the DMA (Direct Marketing Association) Annual Conference attracts some of the world’s brightest data-driven marketing minds and shares their insights and best practices with the rest of the marketing world. Professionals share ideas, innovations and case studies with more than 200 global marketing leaders from some of the world’s top brands.

Though Spokeo’s main focus is on people search, it’s always great to meet new people in parallel industries and listen in on the latest discussions.

For instance, this one panel discussed data and creativity. Moderator Allison Schiff, asked a panel of experts about the values and hindrances data provides for creativity.

Many others agree that one of the major takeaways from this year’s conference is combining both big data and small data to render the best results for reaching customers.

I was assured to hear that others in the industry also believe it’s crucial to focus on the stories and use cases that are specific to your data sets. For example, one main use for Spokeo’s name data is for locating lost family. We remain focused on providing the best and most updated data, to help people with this need.

All in all, it was an extremely informative conference. I’ll also say I happily enjoyed the delicious Chicago grub. YUM!
