What do we want you to write about? Well, this semester’s scholarship contest is all about connections. You’ve got a choice of three different topics, all of which we feel are highly relevant to our modern world.
Causes: How would you use social media to raise awareness and spread the word about a chosen cause?
Ideas: Choose an innovation in a field that means something to you and discuss the impact of big data.
Reunion: Tell us about someone in your life who has served as an inspiration in your life and why.
Of course, you’ll need to click here to read the full list of rules and requirements for your entry. If you’re a current or are about-to-be a current college student, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and are a permanent resident of the United States we want to read your essay!
What Did Last Semester’s Winner Write About?
The winner of our fall essay competition was Darrell Falconburg, a sophomore at the College of Idaho majoring in History and minoring in Mathematics and Philosophy. We loved Darrell’s take on the opportunities open source data provides to our world.
